How Should You Treat Your Affiliate Website?

By Jerry Leung

The number one advantage of affiliate marketing is probably that you do not need to take care all the inventory and logistics while making money. However, you need to do everything right in order to make a lot of money. Below are some of the issues you need consider.

Research and study
First of all, you need to research and study on the business. Imagine you are running an offline business, you have to study and research on the products you are going to sell. You need to know all the strength and weakness of the products. And you have to plan for the best way to promote the products. Of course you do not need to research in depth with the logistics. However, you should have a basic concept for the shipping rules in order to advise your customers on this issue.

Besides, you will need to stick to the affiliate program you have joined for a while. You may need to work for it for at least a few months in order to assess if it is worth promoting the products. If you find that there are too many people who are selling the same products, you may need to try another program of product.

Learn while you are working
You do not need to be a professional web designer in order to create your affiliate website. There are a lot of free programs that you can use to create your website. Of course it will be a plus if you have basic knowledge in HTML programming. As a result you are still suggested to learn some basics of HTML programming, and a little bit of javascript.

Once you create your website, you should concentrate on creating the contents. The contents of your website have to be informative and useful. Otherwise your website cannot attract the targeted customers. And at the same time you have to embed the affiliate links into the website in order to make some sales.

You may come across some ready made websites that you can use instantly without any modification. Of course it can seem very attractive since you may think that you can make money right the way. However, this is not the case. There are only very little contents in these ready made websites and it will not be able to attract the customers. There is no short cut in creating your website, you need to prepare the contents yourself and eventually you should be able to see the results in your bank account.

Track Progress from Article Marketing

By Tiva Kelly

Article marketing is a very popular way to market a new business. The idea behind article marketing is to put an informative article with your name and a link to your website in front of as many people as you can. The more people view the article; the more likely they are to click on your link, visit your site and become a loyal customer.

The concept of article marketing is simple:

1. Write an article that closely relates to your niche topic.
2. Make sure you have a killer title that will attract publishers and potential customers.
3. Carefully place keywords in your title and throughout the article.
4. Submit the article to a distribution service.
5. Put your name, some background information about yourself and a link to your website in the author box.

Surprisingly, most people stop there. These steps will get the job done, but how well? Many people don't bother to see how well their article marketing efforts are doing. They submit them and forget them. They don't track their articles to see who is publishing them and where. Don't make the same mistake.

The only way to know if your article marketing efforts are effective is to track your progress. Determine which sites are sending you the most business and which sites are wasting your time. Gear the articles you write to the sites that are picking them up for publication. Only then will you maximize your time spent writing. This will provide more time for quality customer care and maintaining your website and less time marketing.

How to Track Your Article Marketing Efforts

There are a few ways to track where your articles are being published and how much traffic they are driving to your site.

* Most article distribution sites have a feature that allows you to monitor your article submissions. Once you register on the site and login, you'll be able to view the stats on your articles. While each article distribution site varies, a majority of the sites provide information by the article.

* You can see the number of times each article has been viewed or downloaded. This information gives you some idea of how popular each article is. It is helpful for future submissions on the same topic because you can tailor your articles to revolve around certain keywords.

* Your own website also gives stats and shows picked links. Studying the incoming links from other websites will give you a better idea of which articles are getting the most attention.

* Using a Google search on your name or the title of your article is another way to see where your articles are being published on the Internet. If you search Google again a few months after your article has been submitted to a directory service, you should start to see growth in the amount of websites that have picked up your article and published it.

Spending a little time reviewing your article marketing efforts will save you time submitting to sites that aren't working for you. Continue to submit articles to distribution sites that drive traffic to your business website. Regularly submit an article for distribution and you will see steady growth for your new business.

Is It Best To Push Or Pull With Your Marketing?

By Court

Marketing your new business can get complicated, especially when you have so many different options. Basically when you talk about marketing, there are two types - push and pull. Keep in mind that every business is different and every situation requires different methods. The important thing to remember is to just try and find what works for you and stick to it.

When you hear the term push marketing, it means that you are going to push your product upon the consumer. This means that you are going to make active efforts to get your name and business well known with mass e-mails, websites, plenty of paid advertising or even cold-calling. This generally requires a lot of effort on your part, but at the same time may be your only option if you are just starting out your business.

On the other hand, a pull marketing effort means that the consumer comes to you instead of you finding them. This is done by word of mouth, speaking at conferences, or other types of media like interviews with the press, etc. This could be considered a harder method but it may save you money at the beginning and reap better benefits in the end. No matter which method you pick, there are always a few things to think about when it comes to marketing.

If you decide to use the push method, one of your biggest steps is to get paid advertising. There are many different branches when it comes to this, but it is a source that can get customers quickly and easily. You can also start making an extensive e-mailing list. Or try an incentive based program offered to others in your same line of business. This is a good way to get others to promote your business and get your name out there. Many people who are in the same type of business as you will be willing to help you with other ideas of how they marketed their own business.

If you decide to use the pull method, there are also many options available to you. One idea is to develop good relationships with the media. Once one person hooks onto your business, everyone will start talking about it. This is the type of change reaction that your business needs. Try volunteering your knowledge to help others. This will help others and look good on your list of things you do. You could even start a blog and invite a few of your friends to read it. If they like it, invite them to share it with others. Word of mouth is the best type of free publicity available.

Don't forget that you don't have to decide between one marketing method or the other. If you are not getting the results that you want with one method, try something different. Maybe with a combined effort from both marketing strategies, you will find the right method for you and your business.

What Can An Affiliate Program Do For You?

By Jim Pretin

If you have recently started an online business, you are no doubt facing the difficult task of trying to promote your website without sufficient capital to do much advertising. It is a catch-22; you need to spend a lot of money on advertising to launch an internet business so that you can make some money, but you need to make some money so that you actually have some dollars to spend on advertising.

To get money for advertising, you could take on a business partner who is willing to fund the company to get your marketing campaign going, or perhaps you could turn to venture capital to get started. However, unless you already have a lot of solid business contacts, raising money for an internet startup can be almost impossible.

So, what should you do? The solution to all your marketing problems might be an affiliate program. With an affiliate program, anyone who has a website can post an advertisement for your business on their website in the form of a banner or a text link. If someone clicks on that banner or text link and subsequently buys your product or service, you have to pay that affiliate a commission on the sale.

The reason why this is such an excellent marketing strategy is because an affiliate program costs you nothing. You do not have to pay to place your affiliate banner or text link on other websites because you are offering those other website owners a commission on every referral they make, but only if that referral produces a sale.

Not only does having an affiliate program give you an opportunity to make a tremendous amount of sales without spending money on advertising, but it also increases the number of inbound links to your website. The more links to your site, the higher your search engine ranking will be. So, a surge in your link popularity and an additional increase in sales resulting from an improved search engine ranking is a fabulous byproduct of having a popular affiliate program.

Now, you need to learn how to create an affiliate program and how to promote it. To create an affiliate program, you will either need to hire a web designer or programmer who has experience creating these sorts of programs, because they are not easy to set up. The job requires a lot of backend programming work, database creation, and payment tracking so that the referrals and sales that each affiliate produces can be tracked with a special code that is signed to each individual affiliate.

To promote your program, you will need to post ads for it on as many online affiliate directories as you can find. Some of these directories will charge you a small annual fee to be listed, others will allow you to list your program for free. There are literally hundreds or even thousands of different online directories where you can add your listing. The more listings you can create, the more affiliates you can potentially acquire.

I hope this information helps you get your online business off to a good start. The affiliates you recruit into your program are almost like your employees. They are doing your advertising work for you, and it does not cost you anything unless they make a sale. All those websites will be representing you, sort of like a commissioned salesperson. Just make sure you hire a competent web designer to do the programming work, because if there are any difficulties with tracking sales to your individual affiliates, you will have a huge mess on your hands.

Successful Affiliate Marketing Secrets

By Johanna Piittala

There are hundreds of thousands of affiliate programs out there, all of which claim to be the best. Many of them try to give you the impression that all you have to do is use their banners and links then wait for the money to start rolling in. Although this can be the case, this type of scenario normally applies to large sites with a lot of web traffic.

Choosing banners
With most affiliate programs, you are offered a variety of banners to plan on your website, as very few of them will be effective. The problems with most banners are their size. If you choose a banner that is high in size, it will take a long time to implement and use. Therefore, it's recommended that you use banners no more than 15kb in size.

When you select any types of graphical advertising, you should try and keep the theme of your website in mind. Even though graphical ads are meant to stand out and catch people's eye, they shouldn't be to the point where everything else on the page is completely ignored.

Pop ups and unders
A lot of companies will now give their affiliates the chance of using pop up or pop under ads. In most opinions, pop ups aren't the way to go. They can easily annoy visitors and are normally closed before they even have the chance to load. You should instead go for pop unders and those types that only display once per visit.

Text link ads
Once of the most successful means of advertisting is text link ads. They are easy on bandwidth, don't use a lot of space, and they easily be implemented into most types of page layouts. Good text links offer some information as to why your visitor should investigate your offers.

Email advertising
The direct promotion via email has really taken off over the last several years, although it has brought tons of spam with it. If you plan to use email as a method of advertising your products, you should stand behind what you sell and make yourself available to answer any questions.

Patience
If you feel confident that your site can generate great sales for certain company's, you should contact them to negotiate an arrangement. If they don't seem to enthused to begin with, you should remain patient as companies are approaced every day with affiliates looking to make better deals.

The reality remains that most affiliates can't deliver what they promise, and companies are aware of this.

You should always keep in mind that most forms of advertising will take time. No matter what methods you plan to use, give it some time before you make any type of decision. Although something may not happen overnight - it very well could in a few days or weeks.

What Are The Biggest Mistakes Affiliates Will Make?

By Jerry Leung

People always think that the notion of affiliate marketing is too good to be true. It is difficult for these people to understand why affiliates can work at home and earn much more than they can. And the affiliates do not need to have to care about the inventory and logistic issues. As a result, many people will join this business. However, they may find it frustrated since it is not as easy as what they originally thought. In fact, you cannot make money once you join the affiliate programs. You have to work on your websites and it will take some time for you to really make money.

It will take time for your website to build up the trust from the customers. The customers will only click the links and purchase if they trust your website. And you have to be patient in this matter. You may have heard of affiliate marketers who can make a five figure income but you may not know they have worked for years in order to make that much money. There is certainly no magic and overnight success in this business. You have to update your website from time to time and stick to the programs you have joined. You work on one program on day one and jump to another one on day two. You will not be able to make money if you do this.

Besides, you should not subscribe to too many programs at once. Of course you would like to maximize you profit but as discussed in the above, you will need to take some time to build up your website. No one can manage to design and work on 10 websites at a time. As a result, you should only subscribe to one to two programs at a time. In this way you can focus on these programs and work on your affiliate websites.

Another big mistake affiliate will make, especially for new marketers, is that they would like to make a lot of money in a very short time. This is quite impossible since you are new to the business and you need to learn. They do not realize that it will take time to build up both the website and trust from the customers. Again, there is no overnight success in this business. Affiliate marketers need to work steadily and focus on only a few websites at a time.

In a nutshell, the most important thing is to be patient and to focus. If you can bear these in mind, you are already very close to success.

How to Use Audio-Video Streaming for Online Business

By Joseph Jordan

Audio-video streaming is basically video with sound that you can watch online. The video is transmitted over the internet for various reasons, but you can take advantage of it for your own online business.

The first way to use audio-video streaming is to create a video that promotes your business or product. Think of it as an internet ad. Depending on how you do it, this video could be uploaded onto site like YouTube where millions of potential viewers can see it. You can also pay to have your ad placed on third-party websites.

Audio-video streaming can also be used to show how to use your product, right on your own site. This is very important if you have a product that benefits from more explanation than simply a photo or two with accompanying copywriting. For example, George Foreman has videos on his site that both promote and show how to use his famous grill. There, you can learn right along with him, how to use his grill to prepare a fabulous meal. He isn't just telling you how to do it in text, but actually showing you through the wonder of audio-video streaming!

At times audio-video streaming can be used to create the actual product. You can sell videos on just about anything and if you make a video on something that many people are interested in, you can sell it on your website. The best way to do this is to create the video, then charge a fee to be able to enter the website. Alternatively, you could offer audio-video streaming downloads that people can pay for individually. This is best if you plan to offer multiple videos for sale on your site.

If you decide to use audio-video streaming to create and deliver your products, you need to have a very good and very interesting topic. Something that is easy to promote and that will draw people to your website. For example, fitness videos are very popular with all ages, but particularly with middle-aged women who are worried about their weight. If you offer a website that uploads a new audio-video streaming fitness program every day or every other day, you can charge a monthly fee for access.

The same goes for just about any popular topic. You can also use audio-video streaming to add more products to an existing website that sells information and / or physical products. For example, you might want to try creating some audio-video streaming videos on do it yourself projects for a home improvement site. Use your products in the video to gain extra promotion.

Audio-video streaming can be a very useful tool if you know what to do with it. There is plenty of information on the internet and it is worth your while to take a little time and learn how it works. Then you can start applying it to your business, creating your own products to sell or using it for promotional purposes. One thing remains clear; audio-video streaming is a valuable addition to the internet business.

How To Use Your Homepage To Let Google Know What Your Site Is About

By: Court

Whenever you are starting out your own web page it can be exciting and confusing at the same time. You want to be successful but may be uncertain how that success is really going to come about. Normally the number one goal is to have a well-known and frequently visited site.

It can sometimes be tricky to be at the top of the search engines list but there are a few things that you can do to help your web page reach the top. One way of achieving this is by using your homepage to let Google know exactly what your site is about.

Your homepage is your opportunity to tell Google exactly what is on your page and what the site is really about. A lot of time if the website has a lot of information ranging from graphics and audio and visuals, it is hard for the search engine to determine what your page is about. Your fancy graphics and great designs are not what the search engine is looking at. But, this doesn't necessarily mean that you should leave it off your site. You just need to know what exactly they are looking for.

When you put well organized links on the homepage of your website, this is your way of communicating to Google about what your site is about. This way, when Google scans over your page, they will know what it is all about and eliminate the guessing games.

One important thing to remember when come up with a website is to put the most important information or key words and phrases at the very top of the site. This will make it easier for other search engines, besides Google, to know what is on your page and decide how relevant your site is to each search.

Sometimes they will just scan through the first paragraph of text on the page, looking for words and phrases that match the search.

When you are trying to get your site to be on the first page of Google or other search engines, it can be frustrating or seem impossible. But if you change a few things and use the tips that you learn, you can have your site frequently visited.

There are always a few things to keep in mind when you are creating a website for the first time, but if you remember to do the small and simple things, your success can be great. And remember that if you have any questions, there are many sites available to assist you with your questions. Don't give up or be frustrated, just try out a few ideas until you find the one that is right for you.

Affiliate Marketing Commissions - 5 Hot Tips To Put Yours Into Overdrive

By Steve Roberts

If you wish to earn a residual income from your affiliate marketing commissions, it is critical that your business is set up of sound business practices.

You may find it frustrating with all the promises of fast money making ventures out there, but you will find your income will flow a lot faster if you take the time to first set your business up with a solid base.

1. Choose a Category You Are Interested In;

Affiliate marketing is all about selling someone else's product. So the only thing you have to worry about is the promotion and or marketing of that product.

You will find it a whole lot easier to achieve great results if you already know something about the type of product you are going to promote. If you are passionate about it then that is even better.

2. Choose quality products to promote;

Once you have chosen your category, you will find an abundance of products that you can promote. Do your research and only choose great quality products. Just because you have chosen to promote other people's products, does not mean you should put your name to poor quality products. Websites like ClickBank and Commission Junction are great places to find products to promote. You can also do a google search to find more products to promote. Just type in "your area of interest affiliates". Make sure you put it all inverted commas to narrow the search.

3. Set A Budget - and Stick To It.

Now that you have identified your topic and hopefully chosen some products you would like to promote, you need to start promoting them. But just before you rush off and do that, there are a couple of things you need to do. Firstly, decide how much money you are willing to invest into your business each month and stick to that budget.

If you have been led to believe you can start an internet based business with no capital, then technically this is correct. Back in the real world, you would be most likely to loose interest along the way as meaningful results would take years.

On the other hand you do not have to have a huge budget either, there are plenty of free tools available on the internet. Depending on which form of marketing you intend to do, you will need to spend some money each month for tools or products that are either not available for free, or are just simply of a poor quality in the free market.

Secondly you need to move on to step 4...

4. Educate Yourself;

Once again do your research. You will need to understand how it is you are going to market your chosen topic and associated products. You can use Pay Per Click with search engines, Article Marketing, Search Engine Optimization, Blogs, etc, etc...

This is your danger area. You can get stuck in a never ending cycle of education, if you don't at some stage stop learning and start doing. The other danger is trying to learn too many marketing techniques at once. I would suggest you obtain a brief understanding of the various methods AND the associated costs. Naturally some methods will not suit your budget. So just eliminate them straight away. Your cheapest methods are article marketing, blogs and using social websites like My Space. So if you have a limited budget research those first.

Then pick one and one method only. Focus on it until you have become adept at it. Once you have earnt some commissions, you now have some additional capital to invest into the next learning phase.

This step is critical to your success. Do your home work, choose a marketing method, take action until you master that method and start all over again.

5. Follow up your prospects and customers.

You will only be able to do this effectively if you have registered a domain name and set up your web hosting. You can certainly get your affiliate marketing underway without a website, however if your wish to really send your affiliate marketing commissions into overdrive you will need to set up a web site at some stage.

If the topic of web sites and hosting is a bit daunting at this stage, leave it for now. Don't let that be a learning curve that gets in the way of taking action. Once you have some commissions coming in, you can even pay someone else to take care of the web site stuff while you concentrate on marketing.

If you do have web hosting, then setting up a list building process and an auto-responder to follow up not only your customers but also those potential customers who have had a look at your product, but did not buy. This process will literally send your commissions through the roof.

Naturally there will also be a learning curve to implement this strategy. Take your time, the internet is not going anywhere. It is much better to set up a great system that will reap long term rewards than to rush into something that you are constantly having to fix on the fly.

Making money with an online business using affiliate marketing is not a difficult process. The problem that most people encounter is getting distracted along the way. If you are careful to set up a good business plan, and follow it, you will be well on the way to supercharging your affiliate marketing commissions.

I wish you luck and hope you have a great day.

Basics of Affiliate Marketing - A Guide for Beginners

By Jerry Leung

You should never jump into a business casually. This is also true for affiliate marketing, although there are people who can really make a lot of money with it. In fact you will need to do extensive research before you decide to join this business. You have at least to know what the potential earnings are and how much you may probably earn. You will also need to work and wait before you can really make money with it. Below is a list of issues you will consider.

You may probably know that you need to set up a website to promote the affiliate products. However, even if you find the finest products in the world and set up the most attractive website, you can do nothing if no one visits your website. You will not able to make money if no one can find your website. As a result, you will need to advertise your affiliate site. To this end you will need to spend some money and you will take time to learn how to manipulate the advertisements before you can really make money.

There are different tips on affiliate marketing out there. However, if you just follow the tips you find, you may be in fact using techniques which are saturated with different websites. You should only take the tips on the internet as references and you will need to find your own techniques and combinations to attract customers, and essentially making money. However, there are some basics you can treat them as some golden rules. You need to have quality content in your websites and you have to believe in the products you are promoting.

A lot of affiliate marketers creates beautiful websites and write quality content for it. However, they may leave it abandon after it is created and hope that they can make money out of it. However, another golden rule is that you have to update your affiliate websites regularly, at least twice a month. Of course you still have to write quality content for the updates. You may even need to change the layout and theme of your website regularly. For example, you may make your website with a holiday theme when Christmas is coming. By doing this you will have a higher chance of attracting visitors to visit your website again in the future.

There are a lot of potentials for affiliate marketing. However, you have to work hard in order to succeed. You need to have the patience to wait and research until you are able to make a living with it.

Internet Banner Advertising

By Tommy Stephens

If you have seen a graphical banner at the top of a web page, chances are you have been targeted by banner advertising. Businesses can use Internet banner advertising to help attract more customers to business and increase their name recognition.

Internet banner advertising can help an advertiser increase overall exposure of his business. The idea behind banner advertising is to show as many impressions of a banner as possible to as many sites as possible. While some users will block out banner advertising, the vast majority of users do not feel like downloading the extra software or changing their settings in order to prevent banner advertising scripts from running. Some banners, depending on how the advertiser purchases banner ads, can be bought on a cost per click basis. While this means the advertiser is not charged unless the ad is clicked, it results in a higher rate than simply paying per the number of times the ad is displayed.

Internet banner advertising that catches the users attention while not annoying the user is ideal. Good graphics and tasteful animations are good ways of doing this. A few banners allow the user to play an mini-online game that will take a user to their site. Rather than paying a certain percentage per click, banners are often bought at the rate of a fraction of penny per view, this reduces the advertiser's overall cost. Not only is banner advertising on the net cheaper than other methods, it is also a good way to increase your exposure. A website visitor may not click on a banner right away, but if the product appeals to the user, the advertiser's company name may stick out in the users memory.

The advantage to a website owner of banner advertising is the same as any other kind of advertising, the owner earns increased revenue. High traffic sites often earn a large portion of their income through Internet banner advertising. Internet banner advertising is one of the most cost effective ways of promoting your business online for advertisers, and for webmasters, a great way of monetizing their web site content.

Do You Believe In "Step-By-Step" Systems?

By Nelson Tan

I'm refering to those products titled as "How to make so-and-so $$$ in so-and-so days" even if you don't know what to do. The product creators then proceed to show their screen-captured checks on their sales pages. Well, nothing wrong with them. These type of packages are like the "Greatest Hits" albums which contain nothing but THE BEST. They contain the exact historical accounts of what successful Internet Marketers did that gave them the 'big break'. If you just follow and copy what they did, you will be successful...

Frankly speaking, this whole idea of "following and copying" is not as simple as it seems. If the 95% poor can copy the 5% rich perfectly, then the poor can become rich, but this is normally NOT TRUE! Let's not say Donald Trump... You can't even copy your classmate! You can model after Donald Trump, but ultimately you can only be YOU! It is only your own chicken nature that demands your fullest self-expression in order to be alive, especially for a netrepreneur!

I really salute you if you can copy 100% someone else's methodology, but most of us can't. Step-by-step systems can only be as relevant as they can inspire you with sheer confidence and into massive action. So how do you begin to appreciate step-by-step systems?

There are only 3 things you MUST learn to look out for when studying these instructionals. Just don't read them like novels; scan through the pages quickly!

1) Any specific stages or processes in the Internet Marketers' work that you know you can do well immediately.

2) Resource links... admit it, take away the black words and it's just a book with hyperlinks slapped in it. Nothing wrong with that :) In fact, these alone are worth the investment.

3) The way they write. The instructional-style demands the writer to not only be short, simple and straightforward, but more importantly, make sure readers do not think too much and too hard.

With this tip, we think you can now go back and review whatever step-by-step systems you had come across and check whether they are worth your investment, but bear in mind the real ROI is in the application of your understanding of the materials.

Continue to invest in yourself and you will grow to take massive action. Sooner or later your own passion and ideas are going to demand even more of your self-expression to be bigger and better online. Otherwise, we look forward to the day you create your own step-by-step system.

When It Is Time To Move From Shared Hosting To Dedicated Server

By Amy Nutt

Many websites are hosted by a shared hosting site when they are first created, allowing the individual to have quality web hosting for a low price. This allows the individual to slowly grow their website without having to pay a great deal of money to have the site hosted.

This is especially important for start up businesses, as the business may not see a profit for the first six months to one year after the business has been started. So how does an individual or a company know when it is time for their websites to move from shared hosting to a dedicated server? There are several indications that can alert the individuals when this move may be necessary.

Moving to a dedicated server is the next logical step from having the website hosted by a shared hosting environment. Having the information on a dedicated server gives the individual total control over their site and allows them the freedom to expand their site as quickly as they want. It also reduces the possibility that the server will be slowed down or crash due to the actions of the websites of others. With shared hosting, there are often many different websites, sometimes hundreds, which are being hosted on the same server.

If any one of those sites starts requiring additional bandwidth, then all of the sites hosted by that particular server will begin to run slower or may even crash due to the unexpected strain on the server. Even though a shared hosting environment is less expensive, if reliability is needed the individual will be better off moving to a dedicated server.

Moving from shared hosting to a dedicated server will also allow the individual to install software and hardware that would otherwise be restricted by the shared hosting site due to concerns about security and additional hosting costs. Included in this list is the additional memory that will be needed to help your website grow.

Moving form shared hosting to a dedicated server also allows the website to run more calculations and more processes at the same time without having to worry about the server crashing. If the website suddenly increases in popularity, there is less chance of the site running slow or not running at all due to the increased number of individuals that are using the site.

There are a number of web hosting companies available that will allow you the use of a dedicated server for a nominal fee and this may just be the best business move that you can make.

Do You Want to Create Multiple Streams of Income?

By Jerry Leung

Affiliate marketing bears an advantage that you can join as many affiliate programs as you wish. Of course you should be capable, in terms of time spent, of managing all these programs and affiliate websites. It is in fact not easy to manage all these programs at the same time.

You should be aware that every affiliate website should have one and only one focus so that it can be easily optimized. You will also find it easier to promote the website since it focuses on a niche. In order to create multiple streams of income from affiliate marketing, you will need to create tons of different websites, catering for different niches. However, there is only a very fine line between having multiple streams of income and having too many websites and affiliate programs. As a result, you should try to find a balance otherwise you will just lose the opportunities to make more money from affiliate marketing. Below are some tips for you to handle this issue.

First of all, if possible, you should try to make your different streams or websites relate to one another. What is great about this notion is that you can put different affiliate programs into one single website. For example, you have joined company A which sells weight loss pills and at the same time you can also join company B which promotes weight loss diet programs. In such case you will be able to put these programs together into one website about weight loss. It will be even better if you can find four to five programs which are relating to one another. The above weight loss scenario is only an example and this method can be applied to virtually all situations and programs.

Besides, you should not stick to niche or topic you are interested in. You should try to explore other niches. You can join a program which sells something you do not have any knowledge on. You can take some researches from the internet and start creating the contents of the website. As a matter of fact people love lists of some kind. As a consequence you can create some lists in your website. Again, taking the idea of weight loss as an example, you can have lists such as top 10 keep fit tips or top 10 healthy fruit and people would love that. And what is even better is that it is relatively easy to create such lists.

It is not difficult to create multiple streams of income from affiliate marketing, you can just group the program you have joined and check quickly if they can be put together on one of your websites. And you will start benefit from the multiple streams income created from your affiliate website.

How Can You Avoid Affiliate Scams?

By Jerry Leung

It is not easy to reach the balance between spending money and making money when you are in the world of affiliate marketing. You have to pay to advertise your affiliate website so that the website can help you make more money. This is all about conversions. You have to make sure that it is worth spending and your earning should be a lot more that what you spend. Below are some tips for you to achieve this.

It is totally high probable of making a lot of money by affiliate marketing. There are affiliates who can make $20,000 a month. Some can even earn more. However, you should be somehow realistic. You should never adopt only one strategy to promote all the products. Every product requires a unique strategy to sell. You have to learn from your lessons and you will get better and better in manipulating your websites and advertising campaigns. You have to take some time to learn and with your experiences you will gradually make more money.

Google Adwords program is one of the most affordable way to advertise your affiliate website. In fact affiliate marketing is all about finding a niche market. And you need to drive highly targeted traffic to your websites. Adwords program gives you a way to accomplish this. You should have a rough understanding on the massive search volumes on Google everyday and there is a good chance for your website to be visited by your target audience if you adopt the Google Adwords program. However, you should always bear in mind that you have to pay for the advertisement. As a result you have to track the conversions to see if it is worth spending. The key is to test and tweak. You will need to test and tweak the keywords so that you can get most out of the advertising programs.

As you are well aware, there will be no affiliate marketing if there are no affiliate programs. However, since affiliate marketing has become very profitable in recent years, there are dishonest companies who will try to scam affiliate marketers. If you are a newbie in affiliate marketing, you should stick to the big companies with good reputations. You should always ask on forums if a company is trustworthy. Remember not to involve with companies which will charge you before you join. With all these tips, you should be able to take a balance between the spending and earning.

The Benefits Of Visiting Online Forums

By Sean Rasmussen

Most people online have visited a forum of one kind or another at some point, and some people are regular visitors to one or more each week.

But if you have an online business you could be missing a trick if you aren't browsing around some of the related forums that are out there in cyberspace.

Online forums are a wonderful place to increase your knowledge of all matters related to selling online, whatever your area of expertise may be. Most forums have specific sections related to different areas of interest, search engine marketing, website questions, business issues and promoting are typical areas which are often touched upon.

If you're not already a regular visitor you might be surprised at what you can learn from these forums. Even if you feel as if you've been around the block a few times and you know all there is to know about internet marketing, you will always find other people who have found a new way to do something that works well. You might be amazed at how open people are about sharing tips and techniques with other sellers, but most forums seem to be very pleasant communities that thrive from having a group of like minded people all together in one place.

One of the key benefits to these sites is the ability you have to ask questions if you are having any issues with any of your online ventures. You need to be careful not to give out any sensitive or personal information, but general queries or questions can often get you the answers you need within a very short time - sometimes even within a few minutes. Always be sure to request an email to alert you when you receive a reply to a thread you have started or posted a message in, so you can log in straightaway and get your answer.

You may even find that you strike up one or two business relationships as a result of visiting some forums. It's not uncommon for people to make connections that result in a joint venture being agreed upon - which can take your internet business to a whole new level you hadn't previously thought possible.

Before deciding to join any particular forum, you can usually browse around the contents of a few that you like the look of, to see how valuable the threads and answers usually are. You won't have the ability to post replies or new threads until you become a member (which is usually free) but it gives you an idea of what to expect.

Many people think that browsing forums is wasting time when you ought to be working, but that isn't always the case. A forum can be the quickest way to find the solution to a problem, the answer to a question, or a potential partner for a joint venture. If you need someone to write your website copy for you, or maybe some promotional articles, you can probably find that someone as well.

In short, the time you spend on an online business related forum can be so valuable it should form part of your working week. Don't knock it.

The Value Of Being Accessible

By Sean Rasmussen

Trust means everything online. It can also make or break your sales, whether you specialise in downloads, e-books, selling on eBay, or selling from your own website.

You know you are trustworthy, but the customer doesn't. In short, you need to find as many ways as possible of bridging that gap to make the likelihood of people buying products from you even better than it is already.

To that end you should make sure you are as accessible as you possibly can be. That doesn't mean you should be giving out your home address and inviting people round for open days, but you should make sure they can get hold of you should they need to for any reason.

Provide a valid email address and a telephone number where people can reach you, and make it clear that you will answer all queries within a specific amount of time. It's better to say all queries will be answered within forty eight hours and be able to get to most of them within twenty four, than promise a twenty four hour turnaround and not be able to deliver.

But it's not just about being accessible when people want to get in touch with you. Another essential facet of this subject is to create trust by becoming a familiar sight to your customers online. One good way of doing this is to build an opt-in mailing list which you can send a newsletter to on a regular basis.

This means people will become familiar with your style and subject, and you go from being an unknown person to someone they begin to trust. It sounds like a contradiction in terms but it sometimes holds true that the less you try to sell to them, the more they will be inclined to buy from you.

Accessibility is a big part of being successful online. Finding and utilising as many ways as possible of achieving this, without it encroaching onto your life twenty four hours a day, should be one of your main aims. It also needs to be something which permeates into everything you do online. Whether you realise it or not, you are constantly creating an identity for yourself that will be judged by everyone who crosses your path.

It is ultimately up to you to make sure that identity is honest and open. If you don't like being contacted by other people online (even if there is a perfectly genuine and honest reason for it) then you have to accept that other people will be naturally suspicious of why you don't want to be contacted except to take orders.

You have to admit, when you look at it like that, you can see it looks a little less than trusting. Internet marketing is all about opening up lines of communication with as many potential customers as possible - and you should accept that those lines of communication have to be two way for your internet efforts to meet with long lasting success.

Auto-responders With Punch

By Ingrid Cliff

Auto-responders are a business's best friend. Before we cover how to write fantastic auto-responders, here is a quick recap. What exactly is an auto-responder? Think about when you meet someone and you ask them "How are you?" Most times the automatic response is "Fine thanks". People don't even think - the answer just automatically comes out.

Now - transfer this to your computer. Most people are aware of the "sorry I am on holidays so can't answer your email" type of autoresponder email. You know the person is not there answering their email - the computer does it automatically. This is the most basic sort of autoresponder - one email triggers one response.

But there is so much more you can do with a decent autoresponder package. When people contact you via email or over the net they want a fast answer. This is where an autoresponder program really comes into its own - they become major productivity enhancement tools.

Let's start with something simple. Say, for example, someone enquires using a form on your website wanting a brochure. Imagine if your computer automatically received the email and then sent out the brochure electronically, without you having to do anything.

Autoresponders can also be set up to manage subscriptions and unsubscribes to newsletters, sending out appropriate confirmations as needed. They can be set up to deliver e-books or MP3 downloads on successful purchase over the net. They can deliver a broadcast email or newsletter to everyone on your list at the touch of a button.

One of the other great features is you can upload a series of follow up auto-responders to be delivered at pre-programmed times in the future. Most sales people give up after 2 or 3 follow up contacts.

Autoresponders will keep on following up no matter what (as long as you have programmed them into the sequence). Write it once and then let it run over and over again.

OK - enough about the features of autoresponders. Here's my 10 step formula for creating auto-responders with PUNCH.

Auto responders are like mini direct mail letters - you need to cover all of the regular elements of a long copy direct mail letter in a very succinct way. Everything should be covered in no more than 5 paragraphs!

1. Subject line - your subject line is your headline. People will decide whether or not to open your email by your subject line. Make it interesting, intriguing and tempting.

2. Headline - you need a strong headline to grab attention once they click on your email. Your headline must be consistent with your subject line and make people want to keep reading your email.

3. Body copy - your copy needs to reflect a problem-solution approach. This means you hint at a problem and then quickly provide a possible solution. Focus on the benefits of your product or service, not the features.

4. Links - you need to link through to your sales page quite high in the copy as well as at the end of the copy.

5. Proof/testimonials - it helps to include a testimonial or some other proof.

6. Guarantee - if you offer a money back guarantee then say so.

7. Call to action - make sure you have a clear and compelling call to action. Tell people what to do - this may be as simple as asking them to visit your website.

8. Create urgency - people need to know why they need to act now.

9. Signature.

10. PS - PSs are generally always read. Make sure your PS restates the benefits, repeats the urgency or repeats the call to action.

Here's an example of a typical autoresponder sequence promoting a new product or service.

1. Initial email in the format we have just discussed.

2. 4-7 days later - restate your offer and reinforce the urgency of their action.

3. 4-7 days later - reinforce the benefits, pile on the testimonials and perhaps offer added bonuses. Combine this with a reminder of the deadline or other reason they need to act today.

4. If they still don't buy, then you could ask for feedback on the offer at this stage.

5. Keep the person on your email list and regularly keep them updated with newsletters and other broadcasts.

Autoresponders are like silent salespeople. If you take the time to set them up correctly and program them for success, you can automate your business and create more time for other business growth activities.

The Importance Of Patience

By Sean Rasmussen

It's only natural to want fast results when you are trying to generate extra income from your internet marketing efforts. If you are totally dedicated to bringing in enough money to leave your current job behind, it's easy to become impatient and want to build that income quickly, so you can move forward and achieve even more.

But just like the tale of the tortoise and the hare, a more thoughtful, logical and slower approach can sometimes win the day more quickly than rushing into things without thinking them through properly.

If you're into internet marketing, the chances are you are bombarded daily with new offers; new ways of doing things that will cost you more money in the process; and dynamic, never before thought of but tried and tested ways to make easy money. If you're not firm in your own convictions, it's easy to constantly be tempted off the path you are on to go and investigate what seems to be working for other people.

This is the real lesson of being patient. Everyone has their own niche online, and while some of the e-books, courses and downloads offered are indeed more than worth the money, some aren't. Quite often there is no way to know the difference between them unless you pay your money and find out.

The point is that it's very easy to become distracted online. What you need to do in order to achieve the best results possible is to choose your own niche and be patient while you build and develop your approach to it, using careful and well thought out marketing techniques that will pay dividends in the long run.

It often takes time for these online marketing efforts to bear any fruit, but once they do, they seem to take on a life of their own, gradually providing a small trickle of income that eventually turns into a stream. The key is to remain focused and patient, safe in the knowledge that if you carry on doing what you set out to do, you will eventually succeed in bringing in the kind of income that will enable you to leave your day job behind forever.

Unfortunately there are a lot of people out there who spend their lives chasing the huge income that is perfectly attainable online; but they never stay with anything long enough to really reap the rewards they seek. Time and patience are arguably the two biggest assets you could have. Most people have a certain amount of time, and if they want to succeed they will find some. Patience, however, is a different story.

So how much do you have? Do you have enough to carry you through those days when nothing seems to be working and your eye starts to stray towards other opportunities that are making other marketers a lot of money?

If you find yourself starting to look elsewhere, that is the time to refocus your attentions on your own interests, knuckle down and remember that you are in this for the long haul. You will face tests and challenges, but the best part is in overcoming them and going forward to achieve still more.

If you've truly got what it takes then developing your patience is just as beneficial and important as developing any other skill that you possess.

So take a look at yourself, do you have the patience required to turn your fledgling internet business into something that other people will be talking about in the months and years to come?

How To Increase The Amount Of Time Your Visitors Stay On Your Website

By Kevin Sinclair

As an internet marketer, you know the importance of website traffic. As a matter of fact, the majority of your time as an internet marketer will be spent developing marketing strategies to draw the attention of individuals who will make good traffic for your website. While traffic is an essential element to success when it comes to internet marketing endeavors, there is something even more important. That something is keeping your website visitors interested enough that they stay on your website. Here, you will learn some valuable steps to do just that!

The first thing that you can do to increase the amount of time your visitors stay on your website is to create your website in such a way that users find it easy to maneuver around. Organization is the key when it comes to creating an effective website that will appeal to your visitors. Without organization and proper structure, your visitors may become frustrated and move on to another website that is easy to navigate and understand. Sure, it may take a little time to set up your website in a manner that is structurally fit for the novice internet surfer, but if it is done correctly, you will immediately see results!

The second thing that you can do to increase the amount of time that your visitors spend on your website is to create valuable content. This means that you should create content that is loaded with a lot of useful information, is written in a simple and precise manner, and will interest those in your website readership. Many website owners simply throw together content that is keyword stuffed and contains a lot of word "fluff". While it is true that integrating keywords is a core element to internet success and search engine rankings, if it is over done, you will lose the interest of the traffic that you receive.

The third thing that you should do to ensure that visitors remain on your website is to avoid the temptation to decorate your site with lavish graphics. It is important to understand that there are still individuals who rely heavily on the use of dial up modems to connect to the internet. When visiting a website that carries a heavy load of graphics and other items, it can take a long time to appropriately load a page. Many, when experiencing heavy load times, will back out of a website and visit another one that loads more quickly. You can keep your website looking professional without the heavy burden of graphics, animations, and flashy backgrounds.

The fourth thing that you can do to ensure that your visitors remain on your website is to produce activities that are interactive. Individuals who are given the opportunity to interact in the virtual world are more likely to remain at a website for an extended amount of time. You may want to place a forum on your website where visitors may chat with each other. You may consider placing interactive quizzes and polls on the website. Many website marketers are starting to implement the use of the online gaming industry in order to maintain a steady stream of consistent website traffic.

The fifth thing that you can do to ensure that your traffic stays on your website for an extended amount of time is to offer one or more free products. You may offer free software, games, or even free eBooks. All of these products are quite popular to internet users. By providing an area where your visitors can download free things, you are opening up the door to potential website traffic. In addition to this, you can include your link and information in the product that you offer and allow individuals who download it to advertise and sell it, or even give it away to others on their websites! This is a great way to get down right viral!

As you can see, there are a number of different methods that can be used to gain internet traffic, and keep that traffic on your website. The longer that an individual stays on your website, there is more likely a chance that the individual will purchase what you have to offer. If you want to succeed as an internet marketer, it is important to ensure that you follow the tips listed in this article. You will begin to see immediate traffic and consistency as a result of your internet marketing endeavors.

Article Directories: A Partner on Maximizing Your Exposure with Articles

By Ray Torres

As part of a good article marketing strategy, authors and business owners put a lot of thought, time, research and effort on selecting the best subjects, keywords and overall components of a good, revenue-driving article. When the time comes to finally making it public, there are a myriad of options. Let's take a look at one of this article publishing options; article directories.

Article directories are websites that house free articles. These articles are usually provided by whoever owns the copyright to them as a one of its promotion methods. Each article has the owners information placed under it so that those who eventually read the article will know who wrote it (or at least who owns it) and will be able to get in contact with or visit their website for further information.

Articles directories are a great place to put your articles so that they will make a profit for you. By using this method, people who are interested in your product or service will look at your article, view you as a subject matter expert, and will visit your website. Even if you cannot write or do not have any knowledge on the subject on which you are promoting, for example in the case of an affiliate website you own, you can always hire a writer, usually known as a ghost writer, to do the work for you. Getting quality articles written will be expensive up front, but they will pay for themselves in no time, either through affiliate sales or selling your own services, and everything from then on is pure profit. Another source of good article material is PLR, or Private Label Right's articles, which is a matter outside of the scope of this article. You may be interested in research on it.

Let's take a real life example. Imagine that you are a lawyer working from home. You write an article on certain topics on law and place it on various article directories. Those who are looking for the subject you wrote about will read your article, see that you have the knowledge and skill that is needed to do a job for them, and visit your website or contact you via e-mail. Your article just gained you a new client who may use your services regularly.

Furthermore, since you have posted it on a free article directory, others who have similar websites about law will inevitably use your article for their website. Since they must attach your byline to it, this will bring you even more exposure for every website or blog that re-posts your article, benefiting you from the traffic that they get to their website.

The advantages of using article directories as a vehicle for article publishing are numerous as there are numerous article directories out there for you to utilize. There are strategies were you can either publish your articles manually on these sites or you can chose for free or paid automated process to publish several sites for maximum exposure. Whatever method you pick to post to these articles directories, it may eventually help to bring more traffic and customers to your website, which will lead to new orders and more profit.

The Top Benefit Of Creating A Successful Online Business

By Shakil Zaman

The internet is making a lot of people wealthy and quite rapidly too. Many people are going from rags to riches in as little as 6 months to a year. The reason for this is that the internet has essentially leveled the playing field and now even the average Joe can come online with a vision and commitment and make big money relatively quickly. Here is the top benefit of choosing the internet as a way to make money.

Freedom:

Running an internet business can be vastly different from a conventional one. Most regular business require that you get some office space and then hire employees and then you will have to manage these employees at least until you have enough positive cash flow to hire a business manager.

The amazing thing about many internet businesses is that they are being run by only the single business owner and many of these businesses are generating six to seven figure profits each year. This is possible due to the massive leveraging capability of the internet. You can almost outsource every aspect of an internet business and you do not need to hire any permanent employees if you choose not to.

There are many websites that rank very highly in the search engines and these sites market products like affiliate products where the shipping and customer service is handled by other people. Sites like these get heavy targeted traffic and make money almost without any effort on the part of the site owner.

Of course it does take time and effort to create a site that ranks well in the search engines. Look into search engine optimization and affiliate marketing if you would like to create an autopilot business like this. Also many of these sites have AdSense on them too for an additional source of passive income so look into that too.

This means that you can work from anywhere in the world. If you like to travel then an internet business is a perfect choice. If you just want to have the time to do what you want and when you want to, then an internet business can give you that advantage as you will be able to generate large income and be able to work from anywhere.

Another great thing is that the effort required to maintain a successful internet business can be very minimal. Once you put in the initial time, energy and sometimes money to create a successful business then to maintain your income may only take an hour or two a day of work. It is similar to the analogy of creating a pipeline versus hauling buckets that the famous financial educator Robert Kiyosaki spoke of in one of his books.

It may take some time, money and energy to create the pipeline but if you create a strong pipeline that is deeply created in a vast ocean then this pipeline may pump money into your bank account for a very long time once the switch is turned on and without much effort required to maintain it. If you seek to become truly wealthy then you need to create a massive network of these pipelines instead of hauling buckets at your job.

This low maintenance aspect of an internet business is what makes it so attractive to so many people. Also the low cost of starting an internet business is another factor for the growth in online businesses. It can cost very little to create a website, although it will take time and effort to make that site rank well and get lots of free search engine traffic.

Combining AdSense and affiliate marketing onto a highly informative website that draws free search engine traffic is probably the number one recipe to making more money online with little money and getting more freedom in your life.

Learn Internet Marketing From Real Experts

By Diane Corriette

When it comes to making money online the fastest way to get yourself over the initial learning curve, is to join a coaching or mentoring program that will provide you with the tools that you need to ensure your success.

Unfortunately, all the internet experts that talk about being able to offer you the best coaching or mentoring package online are not always able to deliver on their promises. Being able to create success for yourself is one thing, but being able to replicate the materials that will show others how to create that success is an entirely different thing.

In the last 12 months a number of mentoring opportunities that promise to help you learn internet marketing have appeared online and are being run by people who are not trained professionals or teachers.

These marketers have the belief that their success somehow qualifies them to begin teaching others. But learning success from a book or being inspired by the success story of someone, and actually being able to motivate and inspire an adult to learn something you are teaching is very different.

One of the first mentoring programs I embarked upon was with an experienced internet marketing company who charged over $7,000 and yet 6 months later, despite the promises and glossy paperwork that showed the 6 figure sums their past participants were all making, I had nothing to show for it (well not entirely true, I had acquired a lot of new found knowledge but still nothing to sell and I made no money).

One of the things missing was the fact that I had no product, or any idea about what I wanted to do online, and despite being told that did not really matter, it actually did in the end.

My second coaching program with an experienced internet marketer proved to be more rewarding.

The opportunity to connect with other people plus learn from some of the best internet marketing experts out there (I guess when you are well known you can pull in all your well known friends to help you out!) made a huge difference.

This is still an ongoing program and taught me a lot about how to make money online but still lacked the structure needed to teach a complete business system. I was looking to build a business structure not just earn some money.

Many people buy into the dream of sitting on the beach while money pours into their bank account, and whilst this is possible, what the experts neglect to mention is the fact that it can take time, commitment and work to achieve, and even after achieving it you are still "tied" to a business that needs constant attention.

Talk to any person you believe is an overnight success and they will paint the real picture for you of what it took to get them to that point. The more realistic dream is to look at building an automated online business that is put together so that each part of your business adds value and revenue to your profit margin.

So when you make the decision to take on an internet marketing mentor or coach be sure to think about the qualifications and expertise of the mentor you are taking on, rather than being dazzled about the fact that they once made a lot of money in a short amount of time.

Build Revenue from Affiliate Programs with Article Marketing

By Brad McGovern

You've discovered your niche, created a website and joined an affiliate marketing program. Now what? How can you build revenue from affiliate programs? Article marketing is the answer.

Your articles represent you across the Internet and serve to establish you as an expert in your field. Your articles are used to create interest to draw readers back to your site through your web site link. This form of suggestive marketing targets visitors likely to click on links to your affiliate programs. More clicks convert to more revenue.

Effectively build revenue from affiliate programs with article marketing by following a few simple steps.

Step 1: Write a killer article. Give the readers information they want. Tell them what they want to know on a given topic and generate interest in your personal website. This is also where you establish yourself as an expert. Present yourself well and you will gain the trust of your readers. Once you develop a reputation as a credible source, readers will feel the need to click your link to get more information.

Step 2: Carefully place keyword phrases throughout the article. A well-written article designed to drive in traffic to build wealth from affiliate programs will not achieve its goal if it doesn't include the proper placement of keywords and keyword phrases.

A general rule is to include the keyword in the title of the article, in the beginning paragraph and sprinkled throughout the article. Losing sight of your keywords is a surefire way to slip in the page ranks when it comes to keyword searches.

Step 3: Come up with content for your author box that convinces the reader to click on the link to your site. The author box is your chance to boast about your credentials and expertise, and offer a link to your site and your affiliate program. If done correctly, the author box hooks your reader into clicking on the links and acts as a presale for what your affiliate has to offer. Creating back links from quality sites across the Internet, however, is a powerful way to increase your page rank among search engines, and everywhere your article is published, a back link is created.

Step 4: Submit the article to an article distribution service for maximum exposure. Don't waste your time distributing one article at a time and hoping for back links that will raise your revenue. Use an article distribution and submission service to put your article and link in front of thousands of online readers.

Step 5: Watch the number of page views, back links and revenue rise dramatically. Once your article has been submitted and distributed across the Internet, you should see growth in all of these areas as you build your reputation as a credible source.

You can certainly get excited about the increase in your page views and your revenue at this point, but you've only just begun. To see continual growth on your site and build revenue from your affiliate programs with article marketing you need to repeat steps one through five on a regular basis.

It's especially nice to build revenue from affiliate programs with article marketing because it's free. You'll create valuable back links to your site and bring targeted visitors to your affiliate program.

Cutting Down The Confusion in Affiliate Marketing

By Michael Murray

Let's face it. Internet marketing is a world of confusion, especially for beginners. I still believe that affiliate marketing (selling other people's products for a percentage of the sale) is a great way for newbies to earn money quick. But even in that sub-category of Internet marketing there is confusion. There are so many products promising to reveal the big secret (some good, many not), tools to use, programs to signup for, etc. It can be overwhelming!

I can't teach you everything about affiliate marketing in one article. But I can give you 3 tips to help you get focused and hopefully cut down on some of the confusion.

1. Market to a niche that has a high demand - Forget trying to start your Internet business (even as an affiliate) around your "hobby" or "passion", unless your hobby has a high demand of people searching for something online. Not only must people be searching for something, but they must be searching for something to buy. You don't want to have to convince people to buy the product you're selling. You want them to be searching for a solution to a problem, and see your product as that solution.

2. Focus on one product at a time - The "Mall" approach (like Amazon or Best Buy) doesn't work well for small businesses like ours. If you are building a mini-site around a particular niche, it's best to advertise one product throughout the entire site. There are exceptions, of course, such as if you're comparing products in a review style, but if you are just starting out I'd recommend the "one site, one product" approach. You may only make 2 - 3 sales per day, but imagine having 9 other sites in different niches all doing the same thing.

3. Do something! - With all the information out there it's easy to just keep buying e-books and reading. And buying. And reading. But that won't make your bank account grow. In fact, it will make it shrink! In all seriousness, it's easy to get so overwhelmed that you're not sure what the best course of action is. But you must make a move. Create a content site. Write articles. Do something. I'm not saying to just jump in blindly. Develop a plan of action, but then do it. Yes, you might fail, but so what? You are finding out what works and what doesn't.

If you really want to succeed in Internet marketing, you must learn how to drown out some of the noise. We get hit with so many offers and pitches that it's easy to get confused. Just remember that your goal is to tap into a niche with a high demand and people looking for a solution to a problem. Then, create a mini-site and/or write and submit articles about it, but advertise one product at a time. Above all, remember that the best e-book, course, or study program in the world won't make you a dime. You must take the information and do something with it.

Success Tips On How To Recruit Affiliates

By Robert Williams

Affiliate program success depends on a number of things, including resources, tools and communication. Even the best affiliate manager in the world can supply those things and not have a successful affiliate program. Without affiliates joining the program, you aren't going to be successful. The common question among new affiliate program owners is how to go about recruiting affiliates.

Recruiting means supplying with new members. The more affiliates you can recruit, the more successful your program should be, depending on how serious and hardworking your new members are.

Not everyone who joins will have the same level of drive and ambition to sell. If recruiting stops, you might have fewer affiliates because some will drop out or become inactive. By having a steady flow of new recruits joining the program, the owner has a stream of fresh, new people, excited and keen to promote and create sales.

Do some research before you begin recruiting, to find where to get the best recruits. Of course, you could advertise all over the place and accept any number of recruits who come your way. You might also want to try and lure recruits from competitors, by offering a better commission. You could advertise on a complementary website. If your website is about, for example, healthy pet treats, some complementary websites might be websites featuring information about pet health, pet care and various animal breeds.

Affiliate managers can begin by contacting the owners of these websites and telling them a bit about the product. This is a good time to let them know about the affiliate program and say why their readers would be a good fit for the product.

Giving examples of possible commissions to the affiliates will help to get them interested and motivated. Some of these new affiliates might be new to affiliate marketing and might not realize what the benefits are.

If, for example, an information product in a program sells for $50 and the program offers a 50% commission, you can explain the potential earnings in this way:

As an affiliate, you can earn $750 a month if your readers buy just one copy a day.

There are plenty of people looking for ways to work from home and affiliate marketing is a way that people can earn as much as they like, depending how much effort they are willing to put in.

Another way to attract affiliates is to become a regular on a few forums which are dedicated to affiliate marketing or work from home opportunities. Networking is very important to the affiliate manager, as is establishing global relationships. Include links in your signature to let other members of the forum know about your program.

Yet another option is to notify your mailing list. These people are already interested in your product or service and have looked to you before for guidance and advice. They might even have purchased the same product you are currently promoting. This is great for promoting the product themselves and offering feedback. They might well know people in the same target market.

Recruiting affiliates is something you should be consistent about. Just an hour or so each week can provide a steady stream of new affiliates, excited and keen to begin working for you and promote the goods or services your program has to offer.
