How To Generate Income Using The Power Of Article Writing

By Cynthia Minnaar

There are many free methods of advertising on the internet that are not very effective, but writing and distributing articles is a surefire way to get your website noticed and a great way to generate income online.

When it comes to writing articles you do not have to be an expert writer, you merely need to put down in print your views or experiences. Think of it like writing an essay at school. For those who feel they really cannot do this, then there is the option of hiring a ghost writer. PLR articles are another option, but remember everyone is looking for new and fresh content so it is advisable to write your own.

If writing does not come easy, it is advisable to persist until it does, because you will be rewarded handsomely for submitting unique content. It is like anything in life, the more you practice it the easier it becomes. Article writing is a great example of how to use the internet to generate an income. To see the effect of writing and distributing original articles you need to be consistent and try and submit one to two articles a week to as many article directories as possible. Build a name for yourself as an expert in your field.

You have the option of submitting manually to the article directories and there are forums that accept articles too, or you can purchase a directory submitter to do the job for you.

The object of writing and submitting articles is to draw attention to your website, so be sure to complete the Author’s Resource Box carefully, with your name, copyright clause and of course your website address, so that anyone who reads your article can then go on to view your website. An interesting exercise that you can do here is create a Google Alert with your name, as you use in the Resource Box, and you will be amazed to see where your articles turn up.

By submitting articles you will be building up back-links to your website and this will help with your page ranking as well. Choose your keywords carefully and be sure to place them strategically in your article without spamming. Do not turn your article into an obvious sales letter, otherwise you will find some directories will reject your article.

From the Article Directories and Article Forums, ezine owners select articles to publish in their ezines and should your article be selected this will give your website great exposure. By consistently submitting your unique articles you will also gain recognition from the article directories and more and more webmasters will subscribe to the RSS feeds to automatically alert them of your newly published article.

What to write about can be a stumbling block to many. Sit quietly and think about what you have learnt or achieved and how that information could be of value to others, if you simply turned it into an article and distributed it. It is said that by helping others you help yourself and you will be rewarded with increased targeted traffic resulting in an income generating website.

How To Write A Good Resource Box For Your Articles

By Gregg Hall

In the early days of the internet it was very easy to get in the top of the search engines. You could just put up a website loaded up with the keywords you wanted to be found for and you would be found on the first page easily. Not any more. In recent years it has become a necessity to learn SEO to succeed in the domination of your niche, or even just to compete.

One of the ways that people are using SEO or Search Engine Optimization is by writing articles and submitting them to the article directories with the keywords they want to be found for as the anchor text in their resource boxes. This is an excellent way to collect backlinks from various sites that will help to increase your search engine rankings.

The key to a good resource box is to write it to entice people to go to the site you want to promote to get more information on the subject of the article. If you have an article about cars and you have a site that is about car care products you can have a resource box statement that says something like "for more information on the latest SUVs and car care products go to" and then your URL. You can also make the keyword phrase of car care products as anchor text.

Okay so what is a resource box? The resource box is the information at the bottom of an article that usually will contain the author's name, maybe a brief bio, and some info on the site you want to promote and the link to it. If you have done a good job on writing the article then you should have readers wanting to click on the link to get more information on the subject matter that you wrote about.

The resource box must be just as eye catching as your article in order to get the people reading your articles to click the link of the site you are promoting. You have a very small space to entice the reader to click the link to go to the site you want them to.

The resource box may well be the most important part of your article, if you don't have a resource box that stimulates clicks then all you have done is provided free information that does nothing for you. I don't know about you but I am not writing just for the pure joy of writing.

As I mentioned the anchor text keywords that you choose are crucial because that is what will be used to find you in the search engines. It is best to use the longer tail keywords in the beginning so that you can get some kind of presence. As an example you wouldn't want to go after the term “sports car” but maybe you could get a ranking for “Honda hybrid sports car”.

6 Tips To Writing Money Making Articles

By Nina Greene

Writing articles to promote your internet business is a guaranteed powerful and cost effective method of driving 100% free and targeted traffic to your website. Articles work in numerous ways to boost the profitability of your internet business. First, writing articles positions you as an expert or authority in your field. Next, it gives you credibility because you are providing valuable content. Then it helps to increase your search engine page rank due to the one way links pointing back to your website. Most importantly, it will drive more traffic to your site. More targeted traffic gives you the chance to get more sales!

Here are 6 easy tips to help you get started with article marketing.

1) Write a high quality article that offers valuable content. You are not writing an advertisement. The reader will lose interest in your article very quickly if it reads like an advertisement. Choose an interesting topic to write about. Think about how your article will help the reader. Pretend like you are talking to your friends about the topic and let the words flow naturally. You will capture and keep the readers attention when the tone appears personal. An article with a personal tone reads much better than a dry tone and will not put your readers to sleep. Give examples to illustrate the point you are trying to make when possible.

2) Make the article easy to read. This means break your longer paragraphs up into smaller sections. You should have a distinct introduction, the body and the conclusion. Use bullets or numbered sections in the body when appropriate to make your points more readable. The reader can quickly scan your article when it is formatted in short sections. This will help them to make a decision regarding if the article has any value to offer them.

3) Choose a title that captures interest. The title is your first chance to get the reader interested. It should be short and should grab their attention. If the title is dull and too long you could lose the chance to even get the reader to the body of the article.

4) Check for spelling and grammatical errors. Ask someone to proofread it for you and use a word processor spell checker. It can sometimes be very hard to check for your own errors. This is because you have written the article and probably have read the article many times. The errors will not stand out as easily to you. If your article contains too many typos or misspelled words you start to lose credibility. Why would the reader take advice from a person that cannot even write and spell correctly?

5) Create an author bio that explains who you are, what you do, and what your business is about. Do not use the bio as an advertisement. State what value is provided to the reader if they click on the link to visit your website. Keep it short, only about 4-5 lines. You should suggest to the reader that they could learn more on a particular topic to lead them from the article and directly to your website.

6) Promote your article! You should have it published in ezines, article directories, newsletters, and article syndication feeds! You do not have to limit yourself to online publication sources either. Is there a local publication in your area that might benefit from your article?

Writing and submitting articles has been the absolute #1 most effective technique used by many internet business owners to promote their internet business. If you are not using this technique, you are missing out on an inexpensive and explosive form of website promotion. I hope you will consider writing articles for your business!

And do not worry if you do not feel comfortable writing your own articles or need an additional source of articles to supplement what you are already writing. Using PLR articles or a writing service can help you with all the fresh content that you need for your website.

How the Little Guy Can Beat the Gurus at Internet Marketing

By Kristy Taylor

Most people think that Internet marketing gurus have a stronghold over their competition, but what most people don't know is that these so called gurus usually cheat. Yes, that's right, they cheat. These Internet marketing gurus have created virtual empires of passive profits by cheating.

How have they cheated, you may ask. They've cheated by using private label material to create content for their websites, information for their products, and even articles that they send to their mailing lists.

So how is it possible for the little guy to compete against the gurus? Easy, join them at their own game. Private label content can be found all over the Internet, you just need to search for it. As for topics covered by private label material, the sky is your limit. All topics imaginable have been used when creating private label material, so you can get started in almost any niche at all.

Many gurus also use an autoresponders to keep in touch with their mailing lists. This allows them to add sequential messages to each mailing campaign that is sent out on pre-determined days. These messages usually contain articles and information related to the particular niche that the mailing list members are interested in. These gurus also include marketing or affiliate links in these messages to generate sales from the list members.

Can you imagine being able to predict when and how much you are going to get paid? That's very similar to what the gurus do. By sending out these messages on set days, with pre-written content laced with marketing or affiliate links, they are able to generate sales on a pre-determined day, for a pre-determined amount.

Wow, talk about writing your own pay check. This type of marketing can be very powerful if you know what you're doing. And the availability of autoresponder systems on the Internet is huge. You can self-host an autoresponder script or pay for a hosted service. Most services let you run unlimited campaigns for the one monthly fee, which means you could tap into hundreds of different niches if you wanted to. Personally I like to stick to niches that I already have some interest in as that helps to keep me motivated.

The biggest bite into your time when setting up these autoresponder messages is the content writing. It can be tedious writing a whole series of articles for use in an autoresponder, so many gurus resort to using private label articles in their messages. This saves them a lot of time and effort as they only have to format their messages and basically copy and paste the article into the message. Easy!

So if it's this easy for the gurus, why can't you do the same? You can. You can follow the gurus and do it the same way they do it and use private label content for your messages. Just change the articles a little so they sound a more like you, add some extra information here and there in your own words to help make the article your own. Your members will thank you for the great content and you'll thank yourself for saving so much time.

How You Can Become A Super Affiliate

By Jason Oickle

It's a shame that only 1 of 5% of all affiliates reach the level of earning a five figure monthly income. This elite stage is achieved by the so-called super affiliates.

Let's think for a minute, is being a super affiliate only exclusive to a chosen few people? Or does anyone have the ability to be one? These are probably some of the questions you are asking whenever you hear that someone else made it big in this industry.

The truth is, anyone can become a super affiliate. But it takes hard work, dedication and a good sense of commitment to achieve that kind of success. Super affiliates are all these with three qualities: patience, persistence and a continuous hunger for knowledge.

Once you gain all the qualities, all you have to do is learn some strategies that are vital in becoming a super affiliate.

Super affiliates have a target niche market.

One of the common mistakes that most affiliate marketers make is they try to market everything they find and think will sell. They don't put much focus on a target niche market.

Super affiliates on the other hand, research what people need the most. Then they focus all their time and efforts into marketing that niche. Make sure you don't scatter your attention, you will end up losing more than gaining.

It is best to try and find out what's the latest and most searched after products or services that consumers are buying.

Super affiliates know their product and target market.

Take the time to get more information about the product or service you are promoting, this will build your credibility. Credibility is very important since it will earn you peoples' trust. If customers do not believe in you and trust you, they will avoid what you are offering them.

Research and test the product yourself. It is near impossible to successfuly promote something you don't know anything about. You will notice your sales increase dramatically if you are an expert on the product or service.

Super affiliates market with search engines.

This is the best way to promote products and services online. Once you have your affiliate program set up, you can promote it with different search engines. There are many tools available, pay per click is a good example.

However, you have to make sure you know the tools you are using if you don't want to fall flat on your face. Pick the one you feel you will gain the most from. Don't go along with all the hype and the popular ones other people are using. Choose one that will be more effective.

Super affiliates have more than one merchant.

It's best to try and promote different products from different merchants. Different merchants have different tools and payment options available. The number of honest merchants out there is equal to the ones who only want to make the most out of you.

If you're having problems with one merchant, you can always choose another. Be cautious of exclusive agreements. Remember, this is your business and you want to make sure all your efforts are rewarded properly. You can actually find multiple merchants for almost any specific niche market.

Super affiliates are always hungry for knowledge and they welcome change.

With an online business, what works today may not always work in the comming days or months. That's why it's so important to always be continually educating yourself to have leverage against other affiliates.

To be a super affiliate, you have to take the time to educate yourself. Set aside time for reading, learning and taking in the constant changes that are happening with online marketing.

Super affiliates never give up.

For newbies, the trend seems to be to give up easily when they encounter bumps along the road. I guarentee you that all super affiliates have undergone the same bumps, but the difference with them is they never gave up and they came out triumphant.

Don't give up, instead check your status. Make the necessary changes to the things that are not working and concentrate on what is working. Test everything and push hard to continue what you started.

Success will not come overnight. To become a super affiliate, you have to learn to use all these strategies and combine them with patience, determination and knowledge. Before you know it, you will be earning more profits than you ever dreamed possible.

Get More Exposure Online With MySpace

By Jason Oickle

There are tons of websites on the Internet that are dedicated in meeting friends and basically giving everybody an opportunity to express themselves and exponentially increase their social base. One popular website that is created to let anybody from all corners of the world have a voice, which claims to have over 75 million users across the globe, is MySpace.

With tremendous amounts traffic every day, this site can also be considered as an ideal venue to market and promote your products, online stores, websites and even blogs.

Since MySpace is considered as a casual social networking site, it is not really very easy to use it as a venue to promote your business. Moderators of the site are strict and will suspend you, or worse ban you, if they feel that you are using the site to further your business, product or services. If you want to use MySpace to increase awareness of your product or business, here are the things you might want to keep in mind first:

Do not create a profile solely for commercial use

MySpace explicitly prohibits any form of unauthorized promotions, solicitations or commercial use of the website. Thus, if you want to tap the numerous potential customers in this site, you need to sign up as a casual user. Do not include obvious sales pitches in your profile. Be careful of the words that you use on the site because your profile, update, messages will automatically deleted once you break this cardinal rule.

What you need to do first is to create a huge social network. Make friends and add as many people as possible in your group or network. Once you have come up with the desired number of people, you can post invitations or messages on group bulletins. However, your message should not look like a spam mail. Members of your group can report you to authorities and can have you banned if they think that you are spamming them with unwanted ads.

Ensure that your profile is easy to access and load

It is but natural for you to want your profile to look beautiful, with streaming pages and countless of images. However, if you want many people to find it easy to access your profile, it is advisable to just make it simple and just make use of fixed images.

Many Internet users across the globe are just using dial-up connections and computers that have limited capacity. Therefore, profiles with streaming videos and too much images will be difficult to download and view. Sometimes videos also require software that may not be readily available to some users. No matter how much other people want to view your profile, many would just close your profile because it is taking too much of their precious Internet time just to download the page.

Aside from making your profile simple, you also need to ascertain that your message is easy to view. Do not use font colors that will make it hard to decipher your message. Also, make sure that there are no images or captions that are blocking the view of your message. Internet users are usually busy people. There are too many web spaces to view, so they will not think twice in closing your profile if they cannot read it well.

Carefully choose words and phrases for your profile

Since the site only provides a small space for your profile, it is wise to optimize the space available by making use of words and phrases that do not have too many adjectives and descriptions. Write an interesting, but concise and succinct profile. Utilize the blog spot available to further describe what you are offering or explain your point further.

Maintain cohesion and logical arrangement of thought

Aside from ensuring that your profile is easy to navigate and visually appealing, you also have to make sure that the arrangement of words and thoughts in your MySpace profile are logical and cohesive. Do not simply stuff your precious space with seemingly disconnected and unrelated topics or ideas. Many get irked with sites that are not well thought of and carefully designed.

It might be wise to discuss the benefits of your products or services first, before you discuss further about your product. If you are offering an e-book, for example, you need to first tell people the benefits they can get from reading your e-book. Once they have learned of the numerous things that they can get from the book you are offering, they will be interested in knowing more about it.

Drive Thousands of Visitors to Your Website Today!

By Daniel Millions

Highly targeted traffic is one of the most important entities in the internet universe. Any website owner or administrator recognizes the importance of driving traffic to a website. The success of any website does not rely entirely on the site itself.

You may have a terrific idea for a website, offer an excellent product or service, or have an exceptionally designed site with superb content, but if you do not use the right strategies to advertise, your site would not attract the high traffic you need.

Attracting targeted traffic is a task that should be taken seriously for any site to succeed or make a profit. Fortunately, there are internet-marketing tools that help the website marketer to drive traffic to his website. One of the most significant, and effective, of these tools is Google's Adwords. Adwords is one of Google's advertising services.

How does Google Adwords work? Google is the largest search engine on the web receiving over 200 million queries each day through its various services. As Google is the most popular search engine today, webmasters are keen on having their websites achieve a higher ranking in the search engine results it provides. A high ranking can mean high traffic for that website. The search engine results page is also a great venue for advertisers to promote a product or service through ads and links.

Consequently, Google launched its Adwords service, as a way for businesses to advertise products and services to a targeted audience. Google Adwords can guarantee instant traffic. In this service, Google displays relevant text based ads within its search engine results page termed as "Sponsored Links". Whenever a particular keyword is searched on, these relevant links appear in a separate section giving excellent exposure to the sites listed.

How do you use Google Adwords? First, you have to open an account with the Google Adwords Service. Then, you should indicate your target language and country. This is important because you would not want your products advertised in countries where your product or service cannot be sold. Afterwards, you should now create an ad group.

This involves designing the ad, selecting keywords and determining maximum cost per click that you are willing to spend and defining bid amounts. The most important step in creating a successful Adwords campaign is selecting an effective title tag that will catch the attention of your target audience. The title tag, generally a short phrase, is the most important part of your Adwords campaign so make sure that it is attractive and catchy.

You should describe the website clearly and accurately. The most effective advertising conveys a clear message to the target audience. With a clear message, you will be attracting qualified leads, which can eventually convert to sale. Thus, the importance of selecting the right keywords cannot be overemphasized.

There are keyword variations you can adapt to reach more prospects. Using these varieties, misspellings and derivatives can help increase the chance of your ads being served. Broad match is targeting keywords in a loosely defined manner. Here, the ads appear based on the keywords that have been queried by other users as opposed to exact match, which calls for the keyword to match the query exactly. Meanwhile, a keyword phrase set to phrase match will only appear when the exact phrase is searched on. A negative keyword is helpful in filtering unrelated pages.

After you have decided on what title tag to use in your ad, you must now define a budget in order to maximize exposure. Google Adwords recommend a daily budget for each campaign. However, you should determine a budget that is suitable and affordable. You should also determine the maximum cost per click. Google will offer a recommended cost per click, but you do not have to stick with this.

Usually, a number one position is not ideal as it can also attract unwanted traffic and useless clicks. A number two position is more preferred as it can filter useless clicks and provide traffic with a higher conversion rate.

To conclude, Google Adwords is an excellent strategy and tool in giving your site maximum exposure. Nevertheless, Google Adwords should not be your sole advertising campaign. It will definitely help you find the all-important, highly targeted traffic you need.

New break through Video Review Directory built on a traditional Web Directory business model.

About Article Marketing - Something You Need to Know

By Jerry Leung

Article marketing becomes one of the must when you are doing your link building work. You can write articles of high quality, adding a resource box or about the author box at the end of your article. And you can then get backlinks from the article site. Of course your articles have to be approved in order to be listed on the article sites.

Some webmaster will have a perception that what they need is links and they do not need to write articles of really high quality, as long as the article can be approved. These can be true and at the same time can be wrong. It is true that you can get the backlinks even if the quality of the article is low. There are some article sites which do not pay much attention on the quality of the articles. And search engine such as Yahoo and Google will not know the quality of the articles. They will only count the relevancy from the contents of the articles.

However, articles of low quality may also do harm to you. If you assume we human beings will not read the articles then it is totally fine. However, we have to bear in mind that there are real people who may read your articles. They may lose the interest to visit your website(s) if the article written by you is of very low quality. As a result, it may be better to write the articles at least with average quality so that you can on one hand enjoy the benefit of backlinks and on the other hand attract people who read your articles to visit your website(s) and most importantly, place order for your products.

There are also webmasters who will submit their articles to different article sites so that they can enjoy even more backlinks. Of course you can submit your article site by site manually. Yet you have another option. You can join some article distribution program so that your article will be distributed to different article sites. Remember, the approval of your articles will be subject to individual site so you will still have to write the articles at least of average quality.

Recently, there is a lot of discussion about duplicated contents in websites. Search engine will place a lower value to duplicated contents. As a result what I usually do is to submit an article by joining the distribution programs. At the same time I will also write different versions of the same articles and submit them manually to about ten articles sites of high PR.

Narrow Your Focus In Affiliate Marketing

By Sean Rasmussen

There are more products you could become an affiliate for than you would even dare think about. Whatever subject you are interested in, whatever category of products you find yourself constantly drifting towards, there will be a whole host of opportunities for you to make some money from affiliate marketing.

The secret to success in this market is to avoid the scattergun approach. Resist the temptation to jump on every affiliate opportunity that comes along, as this approach rarely achieves the best results.

Instead, focus your efforts on a niche which interests you. If you already have a website that concentrates on a specific subject - such as cars, writing, selling on eBay, or anything else you can think of - focus on searching for affiliate programs and opportunities that fit the content of your site. If you already have an established visitor base they will instantly tap into any programs, books and other items you recommend to them which in turn will make your conversion rate (the number of people who click through to your affiliate product and actually buy it) much higher.

It sounds like a contradiction in terms, but when you use this more calculated approach to affiliate marketing, you will find out that focusing on a small group of people with common interests will actually make you more money than if you tried to please everyone at the same time.

So how do you find these niche programs to promote?

The easiest way is to use a search engine to find the specific type of affiliate scheme you are looking for. So 'affiliate programs on writing', 'affiliate programs on cooking' and 'affiliate programs on marketing' would be good examples. You can also go to one of the big sites which houses hundreds of affiliate programs from lots of companies - some of whom are well known names that would also add more credibility to your site, if you are looking to add some banners to your pages.

There's always the temptation to jump on board the latest affiliate idea and market it for all you're worth. But in the end staying true to the focus of your website will bring far more satisfying results - both to you and your bank balance.

So don't think you are wasting your time surfing around the internet to see what other websites in your genre are promoting. Call it research - because you can unearth some potential affiliate money makers that your site is crying out for.

Social Networking Brings Life to Business

By Faye B. Roberts

Thanks to the power of the Internet, social networking has created ways for people to link with others globally. There are a number of websites or Internet communities online today bringing the world closer together.

It is likely that you have heard of or taken part in this craze that the Internet connects us to, but may not know what they mean or of what value they offer. If you were asked to define what social networking was, would you be able to give an accurate definition. Unfortunately, most individuals cannot, even though it is likely that they participate in some form of social networking, especially online.

Social networking is like a community or neighborhood that is connected by a website. It is a good way to meet people around the world, share different cultures and develop friendships or business relationships.

Social networking websites, are popping up frequently over the internet. There are many features to these programs and they are designed for both meeting people in business as well as making friends globally. It's up to you to do your due diligence and find the site that offers you the most of what you are looking for. Many would believe a larger selection of social networks are good, but the variety often makes it toilsome to find a valuable social networking website.

If it your intent in meeting new friends online, for business reasons you are advised against joining up for just any social networking site that you come across. They are not all created equal or may not fit your needs. Instead, take the time to research and review a number of different social networking sites. This is the best way to determine if the site you choose is a right fit for your needs.

When it comes to social networking online, websites are used. Social networking websites are, in a way, like an online community of internet users. Depending on the social networking website in question, many of these online community members share something in common. The bond could be hobbies, interests, religion, or politics. Once you are granted access to a social networking website you can begin to socialize. This socialization may include reading the profiles or profile pages of other members or even contacting them.

Some of these site also offer a business component to the mix and it would be your choice if you want to make a little or a lot of extra money on the site.

The friends that you can make are just one of the many benefits to social networking online. Another one of those benefits includes diversity. Unlike in most schools or workplaces, the internet gives individuals, from all around the world, access to social networking sites. This means that although you are in the United States, you could develop an online friendship with someone in Japan. Not only will you make a new friend, but may also learn a thing or two about a new culture.

What Is The Best Form Of Internet Advertising?

By Daniel Trainor

Are you trying to get visitors to your website? This is known as getting traffic and it is becoming harder and harder to do because the number of competitors you have is growing every day.

Here is the best form of internet advertising to help you come out on top.

I really want to concentrate on 2 things in this article and discuss how they tie together to affect your success.

1. Master one form of internet advertising before taking on another one.

2. Finding something you enjoy and stick to it.

Here is what I see. Bob builds a website. Not just any old website either. This is the best looking website in his niche, whatever that means. Kind of like building a restaurant in the mountains and hiring the best chef in the world to come and cook. Except you forget to tell everyone how to find you.

So it dawns on Bob that he is going to have to advertise or no one will come. He reads that ezine advertising is a good thing, so he runs an ad and does not make one sale. He is not even sure if anyone actually came to his site.

Next he hears about how people are buying 10,000 hits for $29 so he thinks this must be the best form of internet advertising. He buys the hits, gets a report showing that all 10,000 have been done and he still has not made one sale.

Now he is getting mad. He reads about how great pay per click advertising is, so without really understanding what he is doing he sets up a small campaign and gives out his credit card. Next day he wakes up and finds he has spent $500 in 12 hours to make just one sale.

We could go on and on. This is not the best way to advertise online. You are better to learn as many free or nearly free methods of promoting your business first. Then branch into paid methods as you learn what you like to do and what is working for you.

If you like to write try article marketing. If you like people try social networking and forum marketing. If you do not like to type try traffic exchanges. You will find what you enjoy and you will do more of it. As you master that then branch out.

Your business will become profitable and you will not jump around spending time and money and finally giving up and quitting.

How to Market Your Products Biblically and Successfully

By Steve Kroening

For years, I struggled to find a Biblical view of marketing. It seemed like all the marketing out there did only one thing -- brag. Companies regularly brag about how great their products are. In our culture, this is an accepted practice. But, as a Christian, I was uncomfortable bragging about anything I did or sold.

Then I discovered that there's a good reason I was uncomfortable with the marketing. And it wasn't just because of the bragging. It's because there was something fundamentally wrong with that type of marketing.

You see, when a company brags about its products, the focus is on the company and/or its products. Most business people would say, "Yeah, that's what I'm trying to sell. So why not focus on the product?" The reason is simple -- and it's also a primary reason why so many marketing ventures don't work.

When you focus on your product or service, you talk about the features of your product. You might talk about why your product is better than someone else's. And you might even describe all the details of your product.

But the Scriptures tell us not to focus on ourselves. They tell us to serve others and consider them more important than ourselves (Phil. 2:3-4). Now you can see why I had such a hard time with marketing for so long. It's tough to follow Scripture and brag about yourself.

Fortunately, God knows more about marketing than I ever will. It turns out that God's principle of considering others more important than yourself is a great marketing principle as well.

Here's how it works: Instead of focusing on the features of your product, marketing needs to tell the customer what benefits the product has to offer. In other words, marketing should show a potential customer how your product can make their life better.

Some might argue that telling all about the features of your product does show how it benefits the customer. But that's true only when the connection between the features and the benefit are obvious or already known by the customer. For instance, car salesmen regularly focus on features because just about everyone knows how those features translate into benefits. If he tells you a car has a 350 horsepower engine, you know it's strong enough to tow a boat or to go really fast (depending on the vehicle).

But if you're a plumber and you want to sell someone a new type of water heater, then selling features isn't going to cut it. You've got to explain why this new model, which costs $200 more than the competition, is going to benefit the customer far better the other brand. You could say your unit heats water twice as fast and uses one-third the gas. Those are features. A better way to sell it is to say, "You'll never run out of hot water again and you'll cut your gas bill by two-thirds. In fact, this unit will pay for itself in the first year."

When I figured out this perspective on marketing, I realized that marketing isn't about bragging. It's about serving.

If I truly believe my product will serve people better than someone else's product, telling them how it does so greatly benefits them. I might tell them about some of the features along the way, but always in context of how they benefit the user. And what you'll find in the end is far better sales results.

Reaching Your Target Audience With Email Marketing

By Terry Parker

In theory email marketing is not any different than other types of marketing. This means the basic principles of marketing apply to your email marketing efforts as well. One of these most important principles is the importance of reaching your target audience.

The ability to reach your ideal customers and convince them to make a purchase cannot be underestimated. This article will provide some insight into how Internet marketers can effectively reach their intended users.

The simplest way to reach your intended user is to allow existing customers as well as potential customers to register on your website and decide whether or not they want to receive emails with additional information and advertisements. When the users register they should be required to enter an email address. This registration process will allow you to compile a list of email addresses from each potential customer who expressed an interest in receiving additional information.

Sending your email marketing materials to the members of this distribution list is much more effective than sending out a mass email to recipients whose email addresses you purchased. This is because the group of email addresses you compiled all have an interest in the products or services you offer while there is no information on the other set of email addresses to indicate whether or not the members will even have an interest in the products or services you offer.

Another tip for reaching your customer or client is to do adequate research to determine how to communicate with the members of your target audience. This may include changing the language of your emails to suit the preferences of your ideal members, designing the layout and colors of the email to be appealing to the people interested, and tailoring the emails to include content which is of interest to the members of the intended audience. This type of research can really pay off because it will make your emails significantly more effective.

Still another tip for reaching your target audience when email marketing is to keep your message simple. Being subtle is important so your email does not seem like a blatant sales pitch but it is also important to present your message in a clear and concise manner which will be easily understood by the members of your intended audience.

If you have any doubts that those interested will be able to understand your message, you can certainly leave information for the email recipients to contact you with your questions. This interaction can prove to be extremely useful. Through these communications you can learn about the needs of your target audience and how you can tailor your email marketing strategy to meet these needs.

Finally, it is important to solicit feedback from the members of your target audience to ensure you are meeting their needs with your email marketing campaign. This should be done on a continual basis as the needs of your target audience may change over time.

When you solicit feedback from your target audience you should be sure to ask specific questions which require answers that can be interpreted easily. This is important because the ability to interpret these answers will greatly impact your ability to further refine your email marketing efforts to conform to the expectations of your target audience members.

Basic Online Business Techniques...

By Pat Watt

When someone starts an online business, and many do, they tend to think that they know what they are doing. In other words, they don't have a clue. Everyone keeps telling them that they need a nice looking website, throw some affiliate programs on it, advertise at free classifieds pages, and watch the money roll in. Easy money, right? That's what they think.

"I don't need anyone to show me how to do this. It shouldn't be hard at all. Actually, it should be a walk in the park." Many people probably think like that. So they advertise here and there. Free classifieds. Free advertising. Maybe some forum posting every day. Free traffic, right?

A few days go by. Then a few weeks go by and they only made about $30 in sales in one month. Many continue to do this and think that if they keep doing the same thing, maybe a miracle will happen.

Not so.

It so very true that the online work at home arena is highly competitive. If you are doing the same thing and keep getting the same results over and over again, not only are you killing your potential for online success, but you are allowing other competitors to pass you by. The only thing that you need to do is to stop and find someone who is already succeeding with their online business. Become like an investigator. Investigate what they do EXACTLY on a daily basis that created that wealth for them.

Here are a few good pointers on what you can do to succeed online:

1) Start Getting Educated

Again, find someone who is very successful online and see what they are doing on a daily basis that creates their success. Do some detailed research online as to what methods and techniques are working for them and others. You can not succeed if you keep associating yourself with people who aren't successful online. So you need to take yourself by the hands and start to associate with successful online friends.

2) You need an auto-responder

Before I go into explaining this subject, it is important that you know that you will want to work with an opt in email subscribers who will come to your site and give you their personal permission to send them periodic emails. What you will not want to do is to buy email subscribers. If you do buy them and send them your emails, then this can kill you and your online reputation.

Having and opt-in email list will allow you to free up lots of your time because your prospects will be receiving messages from you periodically and automatically. The nice thing about email marketing is that instead of you having to call them each time you want to promote something, which will take you forever, your auto-responder system will be working for you while you go out and have fun.

Imagine having an opt in list of 10,000 subscribers. If you were to call each one of them to promote one of your programs, think how long it will take you to reach all of them. It would be impossible for you. With email, you can contact them all in a matter of a few seconds or minutes. You write one email and hit the "submit" button, and you are all done.

"If I don't get an auto-responder and email subscribers, will this cut my chances of succeeding online?"

I am not saying that it will, but if you do get one, your income will just keep growing all the time as your subscribers do.

3) Find a mentor

After you find someone who is very successful online, email them and tell them that you will want to work with them one on one if it is possible. Don't try going into their training thinking that you know it all. Listen and follow each guideline that they are recommending to you.

This person will be your mentor. Your coach and most of all, your friend.

By stepping out and trying a proven way to make money online, you will begin to see that you too can make a nice income online. And the best advice that I can also give you is to never ever give up. A lot of people are making nice incomes online and so can you. Believe in yourself and you will succeed.

What's Your Traffic Like?

By Tyler James Ellison

Analyzing your web traffic statistics can be an invaluable tool for a number of different reasons. But before you can make full use of this tool, you need to understand how to interpret the data.

Most web hosting companies will provide you with basic web traffic information that you then have to interpret and make pertinent use of. However, the data you receive from your host company can be overwhelming if you don't understand how to apply it to your particular business and website. Let's start by examining the most basic data - the average visitors to your site on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.

These figures are the most accurate measure of your website's activity. It would appear on the surface that the more traffic you see recorded, the better you can assume your website is doing, but this is an inaccurate perception. You must also look at the behavior of your visitors once they come to your website to accurately gauge the effectiveness of your site.

There is often a great misconception about what is commonly known as "hits" and what is really effective, quality traffic to your site. Hits simply means the number of information requests received by the server. If you think about the fact that a hit can simply equate to the number of graphics per page, you will get an idea of how overblown the concept of hits can be. For example, if your homepage has 15 graphics on it, the server records this as 15 hits, when in reality we are talking about a single visitor checking out a single page on your site. As you can see, hits are not useful in analyzing your website traffic.

The more visitors that come to your website, the more accurate your interpretation will become. The greater the traffic is to your website, the more precise your analysis will be of overall trends in visitor behavior. The smaller the number of visitors, the more a few anomalous visitors can distort the analysis.

The aim is to use the web traffic statistics to figure out how well or how poorly your site is working for your visitors. One way to determine this is to find out how long on average your visitors spend on your site. If the time spent is relatively brief, it usually indicates an underlying problem. Then the challenge is to figure out what that problem is.

It could be that your keywords are directing the wrong type of visitors to your website, or that your graphics are confusing or intimidating, causing the visitor to exit rapidly. Use the knowledge of how much time visitors are spending on your site to pinpoint specific problems, and after you fix those problems, continue to use time spent as a gauge of how effective your fix has been.

Additionally, web traffic stats can help you determine effective and ineffective areas of your website. If you have a page that you believe is important, but visitors are exiting it rapidly, that page needs attention. You could, for example, consider improving the link to this page by making the link more noticeable and enticing, or you could improve the look of the page or the ease that your visitors can access the necessary information on that page.

If, on the other hand, you notice that visitors are spending a lot of time on pages that you think are less important, you might consider moving some of your sales copy and marketing focus to that particular page.

As you can see, these statistics will reveal vital information about the effectiveness of individual pages, and visitor habits and motivation. This is essential information to any successful Internet marketing campaign.

Your website undoubtedly has exit pages, such as a final order or contact form. This is a page you can expect your visitor to exit rapidly. However, not every visitor to your site is going to find exactly what he or she is looking for, so statistics may show you a number of different exit pages. This is normal unless you notice an exit trend on a particular page that is not intended as an exit page. In the case that a significant percentage of visitors are exiting your website on a page not designed for that purpose, you must closely examine that particular page to discern what the problem is. Once you pinpoint potential weaknesses on that page, minor modifications in content or graphic may have a significant impact on the keeping visitors moving through your site instead of exiting at the wrong page.

After you have analyzed your visitor statistics, it's time to turn to your keywords and phrases. Notice if particular keywords are directing a specific type of visitor to your site. The more targeted the visitor - meaning that they find what they are looking for on your site, and even better, fill out your contact form or make a purchase - the more valuable that keyword is.

However, if you find a large number of visitors are being directed - or should I say misdirected - to your site by a particular keyword or phrase, that keyword demands adjustment. Keywords are vital to bringing quality visitors to your site who are ready to do business with you. Close analysis of the keywords your visitors are using to find your site will give you a vital understanding of your visitor's needs and motivations.

Finally, if you notice that users are finding your website by typing in your company name, break open the champagne! It means you have achieved a significant level of brand recognition, and this is a sure sign of burgeoning success.

5 Guaranteed Ways To Retain Your Online Customers

By Jeff Casmer

Whatever the product or service you offer on your website, there are probably hundreds of thousands or millions other websites which a potential online customer can go to. It takes a lot of hard work to get the visitors to your website in the first instance. Now that some prospects have visited your website, you have a very high chance of converting them into your online customers. It is very important for you not to lose them to your competitor.

How can you retain your leads and prospects, and ensure that they buy from you and not from your competition?

1. A friendly, professional and easy-to-navigate website is a necessity. You must ensure that you have a friendly website, and make it easy for your customers to navigate. Have you ever visited a website which is simply confusing? You do not know what is being sold, or there are so many things on offer on that website and it is all very confusing? Well, you must avoid having such a website because it will make you lose your online customers. A customer-friendly and clearly laid-out website is a definite way of retaining your online customers. The prospect may really want to buy from you, but if your website is not easy to navigate and takes a lot of time for the prospect to find what they want, they will leave. Time is of essence for online customers. Have a 'Frequently Asked Questions' on your website to explain more about your website or the product / service that you offer.

2. Your website must be full of BENEFITS. This is another necessity if you want to convert your prospects into online customers. Everyone appreciates something for free. Offer free tips, information, 'stuff' or anything else related to what your website offers. It helps to make your website a 'one-stop-shop' where the prospects or online customers can get more information about the topic related to your products and services. So make sure you have a lot of free information, tips and articles on your website. It is important to have some valuable benefits which your online customers would really appreciate getting if they bought from you. Be creative and make sure that you have some valuable free offers to your online customers.

3. Easy, free and speedy communication. Your website is your 'shop' that operates 24/7. You will need to make it easy for your prospects and online customers to contact you. You must have many contact alternatives on your website; namely email address, toll free fax or telephone number - whatever you see suitable for you and your business. Allow prospects or online customers to contact you by email, and it helps to hyper link your email address so that they do not have to type it in. You must check your emails on a regular basis and respond to any queries as soon as you can.

4. Keep in touch. This ties in with the above aspect, but focuses more on proactively staying in contact with your prospects and online customers. Offer a free e-course or e-zine subscription on your website so that you keep in touch with your website's visitors. This will help you create trust and build a relationship with your prospects, and soon they will be your online customers. Having a 'list' is a definite way of making money online as you can make regular offers to them. After every sale, follow up with the customer and see if they are satisfied with their purchase. Retain their email on your list and offer them any services or products you may have in the future.

5. Go the 'extra mile' for your customers and be nice. This is a critical factor which is often underestimated in its importance. Always be ready to help, answer any questions or offer some advice. Be polite to your customers. Show them that you really care about them.

By simply following the above recommendations, you can be sure to convert your prospects into online customers and also keep them away from your competition.

Use Articles to Advertise Your Website

By Martin Kleis

Many businesses know the significance of writing good quality content articles as a further way to advertise their business. The topic of your articles should relate to your industry and they should be informative and interesting.

There are numerous article websites that you can submit your articles for publishing and more are appearing online every day. This additional opportunity to promote your business can ultimately assist your position in search engine rankings through link popularity.

The articles you write will have your signature box at the end of it, which is where you will put your website link. It’s highly probable that your articles will stay published on those websites for a long period, which could help with the page rank of your own website.

This is an additional and very welcome benefit of submitting your articles.

As long as you can provide good content that will keep the interest of the reader, you will find that producing articles on a regular basis is not that difficult. The required length of these articles in terms of words will vary from site to site but you will be surprised how quickly the words add up!

You will come across an abundance of article websites by performing a search on any of the major search engines. Many have numerous different topic areas that you can submit your article to. You must check the rules and guidelines of each article site to ensure you are following their specific procedures for article submission.

When the pages on the article publisher's website have been indexed by the major search engines, the link from your article back to your own website will be factored into your websites link popularity algorithm.

Furthermore, the higher the page rank that the publisher's website is given by the search engines, the more important this back link will be considered for your own websites importance.

Promoting your website by means of articles has to benefit both the author of the article and the publisher. The article must be well researched, appropriate and understandable. Ensure that you thoroughly check the article for spelling and grammar prior to submission.

What you should avoid at all costs is to turn your article into one long sales pitch. This should not be your aim at all; you will completely alienate the reader and consequently waste your own time writing the article. It’s highly unlikely that they will want to click on the link to your website after reading. A link to your website at the end of the article should suffice.

By creating as many good quality articles that you possibly can and submitting them to several article websites, then the more exposure you will gain. In addition, you will receive plenty of links back to your site which will also boost your websites reputation.

How To Avoid The 3 Most Common Affiliate Mistakes

By James Yee

Affiliate marketing is one of the most effective and powerful ways of earning some money online. This program gives everybody a chance to make a profit through the Internet. Since these affiliate marketing programs are easy to join, implement and pays a commission on a regular basis, more an more people are now willing in this business.

However, like all businesses, there are lots of pitfalls in the affiliate marketing business. Committing some of the most common mistakes will cost the marketers a large portion taken from the profit they are making every day. That is why it is better to avoid them than be regretful in the end.

Mistake number 1: Choosing the wrong affiliate.

Many people want to earn from affiliate marketing as fast as possible. In their rush to be part of one, they tend to choose a bandwagon product. This is the kind of products that the program thinks is "hot". They choose the product that is in demand without actually considering if the product appeals to them. This is not a very wise move obviously.

Instead of jumping on the bandwagon, try top choose a product in which you are truly interested in. For any endeavor to succeed, you should take some time to plan and figure out your actions.

Pick a product that appeals to you. Then do some research about that product to see if they are in demand. Promoting a product you are more passionate about is easier than promoting one for the sake of the earnings only.

Mistake number 2: Joining too many affiliate programs.

Since affiliate programs are very easy to join, you might be tempted to join multiples of affiliate programs to try and maximize the earnings you will be getting. Besides you may think that there is nothing wrong and nothing to lose by being part of many affiliate programs.

True, that is a great way to have multiple sources of income. However, joining multiple programs and attempting to promote them all at the same time will prevent you from concentrating on each one of them.

The result? The maximum potential of your affiliate program is not realized and the income generated will not exactly be as huge as you were thinking initially it would. The best way to get excellent result is by joining just one program that pays a 40% commission at least. Then give it your best effort by promoting your products enthusiastically. As soon as you see that it is already making a reasonable profit, then maybe you can now join another affiliate program.

The technique is to do it slowly but surely. There is really no need to rush into things, especially with affiliate marketing. With the way things are going, the future is looking real bright and it seems affiliate marketing will be staying for a long time too.

Mistake number 3: Not buying the product or using the service.

As an affiliate, you main purpose is to effectively and convincingly promote a product or service and to find customers. For you to achieve this purpose, you must be able to relay to the customers that certain product and service. It is therefore difficult for you to do this when you yourself have not tried these things out. Thus, you will fail to promote and recommend them convincingly. You will also fail to create a desire in your customers to avail any of what you are offering.

Try the product or service personally first before you sign up as an affiliate to see if it is really delivering what it promises. If you have done so, then you are one of the credible and living testaments aware of its advantages and disadvantages. Your customers will then feel the sincerity and truthfulness in you and this will trigger them to try them out for themselves.

Many affiliate marketers makes these mistakes and are paying dearly for their actions. To not fall into the same situation they have been in, try to do everything to avoid making the same mistakes.

Time is the key. Take the time to analyze your marketing strategy and check if you are in the right track. If done properly, you will be able to maximize your affiliate marketing program and earn higher profits.

How To Earn Money With Affiliate Programs in 3 Steps

By Jeff Casmer

Let's say you are new to internet marketing and you want to earn money. How do you start? One way that is popular is to sell other people's products. This is known as affiliate marketing.

There are millions of companies all over the world that will pay you up to a 75% commission to sell their products for them. So how do you choose the right affiliate program?

Here are 3 tips that are the most important.

1. Start with a product that interests you. You may read this a lot if you are researching earning money online. The reason for that is because it is true. You will eventually branch into marketing your products with things like blogging and article marketing or even building your own website.

It is so much easier to sell a product that appeals to you or that you may even buy for yourself. You may even be able to write a review from the perspective of a customer. Or you may be able to brand yourself as an expert in this area. These are all part of earning money over another affiliate selling the same product.

2. Search for merchants and products or services that are related to your interest. One place to find affiliate programs on all kinds of different products is AssociatePrograms.com. Another is CJ.com. Look for products that pay a high commission rate as well as products that are unique. Along with this is which affiliate programs offer support tools like banners, websites, classified ads, and email promotions.

When you start out it is going to be easier to use what the affiliate program has to offer you. As soon as you can you are going to want to start your own website or blog to make yourself stand out from your competitors selling the same products.

3. The last step is to get visitors to your website. This is known as driving traffic to your website. This is where most affiliates fail and therefore do not earn any money. Before you can sell something to someone they have to come to your affiliate website or your own new website. You have to be careful how much money you spend on advertising and promoting your products.

Pay per click advertising is one example of a way you can get traffic to your website quickly, but can also cost you a lot of money if you do not know what you are doing. At first you really are better off sticking to free or almost free methods on promoting your business. This can include blogging and pinging, social networking, article marketing, forum marketing, and any way you can find to interact more closely with people who may have an interest in what you sell.

To do this correctly you need to be where your market is and then tell them about yourself and your business. This is why article marketing has long been one of the best ways to earn money with affiliate programs.

If you can write short articles, you can take your readers from the article to a resource box containing a link to your website or affiliate website address. When they click on that link you now have a visitor on your site who is a potential buyer.

Do this over and over until you are earning the amount of money you want.

Submitting Your Articles To Article Directories

By J. Ron Beauchamps

If you're interested in writing an article to increase exposure to your website, then you will need to know how to avoid some common mistakes that so many make when submitting their articles to article directories and article banks.

The internet is a place where millions go every day to get information. Even people who have no computer knowledge know that the internet is a great place to get free information on just about any topic. Businesses and marketers have been using this powerful advertising tool to provide free information to their prospective buyer for years.

Don't be sloppy and careless

You can find many article submitters, tools and services online that will help you distribute your articles more efficiently. The more efficient you are with the process, the more exposure you will receive from your articles. If you want to be successful at distributing your articles, then here are a few points you will need to keep in mind.

1. Writing an article with only your benefit in mind will not produce loyal readers. To be successful at writing you need to put yourself in the reader's shoes. If your only purpose for writing articles is for branding, generating leads and promotion and not to provide quality information to your readers, then they will likely go elsewhere and read something more useful.

2. If you fail to write a compelling article that moves your readers to want to keep reading, then it's doubtful that they will follow through and click on your link in the resource box at the end of your article. To maximize the full potential of your articles you need to write good informative articles that will move them to take the action you desire.

3. Write an excellent article that people like and they will copy your article and post it on their website. This will generate links back to your website that can cause an explosion of traffic.

4. Using keyword properly will produce better search engine results which in turn drives more visitors to your site, just form one well written and thought out article. Put keywords in strategic places within your article but be sure not to overdo them. Be careful when using anchor texts, which is also an effective method, because the majority of the directories are not able to support this.

5. There's a far greater purpose for writing good informative articles than just getting links back to your site, branding or promotion. You need to realize that your credibility and reputation as a writer is being scrutinized. If you produce poorly written articles full of spelling errors, bad grammar and something that amounts to just another sales pitch, publishers will not give you any space or voice on their site.

Follow the guidelines

Just remember that article directories and article banks have some guidelines and specifications on the articles that they accept. Just because you submit an article doesn't mean it will be accepted or reviewed. If you submit an article to the wrong directory or in the wrong category, your article will be rejected.

Be specific and narrow your topic down to something that people want information about. Do some research and find out what kind of articles publishers are looking for. If even one publisher with a hundred thousand readers picks up on your article, you could literally increase your potential audience overnight.

The internet is an amazing tool to increase exposure for any business. Writing articles is just a small but very powerful tool that you can use for branding, building your reputation, promote your products or services. Many write articles just to provide information that will help others find the answers they're looking for. Writing is an art, and those who write creatively and with a spirit of excellence will reap far greater rewards than just money.

Make Money With Ebay - Discover Some Tips On How To Succeed Selling On Ebay

By Shakil Zaman

Ebay is one of the most visited websites on the internet and its popularity is growing as more and more people are realizing the benefits of shopping on eBay. People are becoming more aware of the fact that they can purchase many items from eBay at much lower prices than anywhere else. Learning how to sell products on eBay can be very lucrative but you must know what you are doing.

The eBay marketplace has become very competitive and separating yourself from the competition is critical if you want to be able to run a profitable eBay business. The first step is to register and either make a purchase or generate a sale. When either of these happen you will receive the status of 'verified' and you can also now get feedback from other buyers and sellers. This feedback is critical as most buyers will only purchase from those that have 100% positive feedback ratings.

Make sure that you are delivering quality products and ensure that your product descriptions are accurate. Remember that even 1 negative feedback can ruin your reputation and your sales will decline dramatically. Make sure that you accept paypal payments as this is the preferred method of payment by most buyers on eBay.

It is easy to get a paypal account, it is free and you can also upgrade your account to a business account for free also and begin receiving larger amounts of money quickly. Offer other forms of payment also, like money orders or cheques, but make sure that you clearly describe any holding periods or such so as to avoid complaints from your buyers.

When it comes to selecting a product to sell you need to make sure that it will be profitable. This means that you need to find wholesalers, ideally drop shippers that will also ship the product to your customer, that will sell you products cheaply. Also you need to do a history check on eBay and look for products that have sold well in the past and use them as clues as to what you need to be selling. Use the eBay search function to do research on products, just type in a keyword and start going through the listings and you will get an idea of what products work well and also the price that they have sold for in the past.

Look for products that are unique and are not being offered by too many other sellers. This will help you to attract the highest bids as you will be one of the few with those kinds of products. Make sure that you take the time to do your research and planning as this will make a significant difference in your end results. Drop shipping is often a great idea as it can save you significant time and space as you will not need any inventory. Look for as many drop shipping wholesalers as you can and find out about the products they offer as well as their reputation for delivering excellence.

Remember that if your drop shipping wholesaler is poor at delivering then this will show up as negative feedback in your eBay account and this is one thing you must avoid at all costs. When you starting out on eBay do not use the 'buy it now' feature but rather stick to the auction format. Remember that people want to bid and get a good deal as that is the main reason they come to eBay. Also start with a low initial bid as this will increase the level of bidding activity on your products.

The eBay site itself has significant information about the auction process as well as many hints and tips on how to succeed selling on eBay, so make sure you read through the faqs on the site and most important of all learn from your experience. Stay committed to selling on eBay and stick with it as there is plenty of money to be made. You are bound to encounter challenges along the way but as long as your commitment is strong you can find a way to succeed in eBay marketing.

What Does It Take To Succeed in Internet Marketing?

By Jeff Casmer

The Internet is full of many opportunities for making money. The market is unlimited - millions upon millions of customers. Your business runs 24 hours every day. Use of the internet continues to grow. Basically, the sky is the limit with internet marketing!

All the people who have been successful online have applied hard work and determination. Building an internet marketing business takes a lot of effort, dedication and commitment. You can not become successful online overnight; instead, sheer hard work, dedication, focus and commitment can help you become successful with your internet marketing business. It will take you an estimated couple of years of constant effort for you to start earning a significant amount on the internet.

Although anyone would like to start earning huge profits fast, the fact is that you have to take the necessary effort and time to create the base for your internet marketing business.

The first thing you will need to do is to set down your goals, and these goals will guide you as you work your way towards your dream of becoming an internet marketing millionaire. These firm goals will help you consistently work on your internet marketing business without giving up. You will need to be very focused and persistent for you to achieve your goals.

So what does it take to succeed in internet marketing?

· Clearly defined goals and 'action plan' of all the activities which you will need to do in order to succeed with your business. Never lose your vision - keep focused on it no matter what setbacks you encounter along the way.

· Each and every day, take an action on your business. Never neglect your business. As soon as you decide to start your internet marketing business - start working on it and developing it. Get started with whatever you have. Promote your business every day. Every little action you start counts towards building your business.

· Treat your business as a potential million dollar business and do not treat it as a hobby. That means all aspects of your business must show professionalism. If you treat your internet marketing business like a serious full-time million dollar business - it will become one.

· Be optimistic. This is very important - you must always be positive and enthusiastic about your business. Have confidence in yourself that you can do it - and you will.

· Develop yourself. All that matters in being hugely successful is having the right mind set. There are various resources you can use for personal development and motivation. You must read classic books such as The Science of Getting Rich or Think and Grow Rich. These will help you develop your potential, stay motivated and focused on your goals. Learn as much as you can about your internet marketing business and prepare yourself for success.

· Be patient. A lot of people give up because they start with some unrealistic expectations of overnight success with their internet marketing business. It takes time to build your business. The first 6 months to a year are the hardest because you must work hard and your rewards will be little.

· Never ever give up. This is very important - a lot of people leave their dreams and walk away from huge potential because they give up. Handle any setbacks you encounter and keep on focused on your vision.

7 Ways to Harvest Free Traffic

By Andrew Kasch

Using free website traffic tactics can be addictive. Once you start, you might never want to pay for advertising again. Try these tips and see for yourself.

Tip #1: Organic Search Engine Rankings. There are only three search engines you need to worry about and those are Google, Yahoo, and MSN. Conquering top search engine rankings in the big three starts with good keyword research. When you know what search terms you want to target, it's then a matter of tailoring your site to match what the search engines are looking for.

With Google you need lots of original content (that is, large websites) and natural-looking incoming links. With Yahoo it’s pretty much the same except that you can use reprinted articles, otherwise known as duplicate content, in building your subpages. With MSN you can attain top spots with small mini-sites that simply use the search terms in the domain.

You need incoming links, known as backlinks, to move up in the rankings. Some popular ways to get these include using social bookmarking sites, posting comments and trackbacks on blogs (and other sites) that don't use "no follow" meta tags, submitting articles to article directories, posting your URL on directory sites, and exchanging links with other sites.

Tip #2: Social Networks such as Myspace. This usually involves making multiple profiles and getting very social on the social network with other users. Automation software is often utilized to make mundane tasks such as sending friend requests, comments, and messages to other users much faster. Myspace allows their database to be sorted by a nice range of demographics, which is very helpful if you need a target list of prospects to promote your product or service to. You can also access members of groups who all have a shared interest in a certain subject.

Tip #3: Free Classified Ad Sites. This is getting to be a very effective free traffic method, but you do need to go about it with some tact and creativity. Craig's List is the king of free online classifieds, and a properly tailored campaign can harvest hundreds of targeted prospects per day. Software is very handy for managing larger campaigns.

Tip #4: Video Hosting Sites. Anyone can harvest sales leads from video hosting sites these days. You can make a video using a digital camera or free screen recording software on your computer, or a combination of both. This is where the creative types will soar above the crowd.

You Tube is the undisputed king of online video hosting, and a smart marketer can reap thousands of views for his or her video per day from inside You Tube itself. All you need to do is drive people to your page, which can be done by commenting on other videos or other peoples pages, and sending friend requests. Software makes this process much more efficient.

Tip #5: Question and Answer Sites. These are becoming incredibly popular, with Yahoo Answers being the clear leader for the moment. Anyone can ask questions, anyone can answer questions, and as long as you don't come across as a blatant spammer, dropping your links into both questions and answers is pretty easy. It's certainly worth your time to market any niche through Yahoo Answers.

Tip #6: Forums. Message board forums exist on the internet for just about every topic imaginable. An advanced Google search using "message board forum" and your topic of interest will probably turn up several places where people discuss your subject. Join these forums, become active and helpful to others, then do subtle marketing through your signature (or even your user name).

Tip #7 Give-aways on auction sites. Auction sites such as ebay are a great opportunity to find customers for your niche. Write a 10-page report that has a few good tips and a great sales pitch for your product, and then give it away for free (or charge something like $1 for it). Hype it up with some good sales jargon so it moves well. Capture the emails of those downloading the book and add them to an autoresponder service, so you can keep mailing them offers.

These tips are only the beginning of free traffic opportunities on the web. Plenty of marketers make a nice income without spending a dime on advertising. Will you become one of them?

Real Life Case Studies of Super Affiliate Marketing Success

By Article Specialist

One of the best ways to learn affiliate marketing is to follow those who have been extremely successful doing it. But rather than purchasing their products—which is also a good idea—you can look at what they actually do.

Below, I’ve included some brief case studies on two big name super affiliates. If you read these case studies and follow their actions closely, you should be able to pick up several tricks you can use the next time you decide to sell affiliate products.

Andrew Fox

If you’re not familiar with Andrew Fox, he’s someone to look out for and to follow closely. He will soon be one of the biggest names in Internet marketing. At the age of only 21—and with only a high school education—he was asked to speak at the Internet Super Conference in 2002.

He was by far the youngest speaker to have ever accepted the honor. And yet, even at his age and even without an advanced degree, he was able to excel in his field. This should be a clear lesson to anyone who doubts his own qualifications: there’s nothing that says you have to be an expert in some field to be a successful affiliate marketer.

Andrew has created a number of large, successful businesses, some of which have nothing to do with Internet marketing. For instance, he created a dating and text messaging site for people in the UK.

In addition to selling his own products, Andrew also sells a lot of products as an affiliate. According to interviews with him, he has made as much as $46,000 in a single month from doing so. However, when he first started, he had to work as many as 16 to 18 hours each day—including holidays and weekends—just to get to where he is now. So if you want to attain the success that Andrew has, then you may have to work quite hard.

Ewen Chia

Today, Ewen Chia is an Internet marketing guru. But I didn’t need to tell you that. You’ve probably already heard of him. And, in fact, there’s a good chance you’ve purchased one of his many high-quality Internet marketing info products.

What you may not know about Ewen Chia is that he is also a wildly successful affiliate product marketer. In fact, according to many who follow Internet marketing, he is currently the “world’s #1 affiliate marketer.”

Unlike many affiliate marketers, Ewen does not rely on run-of-the-mill, 5-year-old strategies. Instead, browse any salespage for his affiliate marketing products and you are likely to find tactics you have never seen previously.

For instance, one thing Ewen teaches readers in his affiliate marketing courses is how to get sites featured at places such as CNN, Google, Yahoo, and other high-traffic sites for no cost at all. He also teaches them how to generate traffic without using the normal methods, such as PPC, SEO, and Web 2.0 tricks.

Ewen also uses and teaches the following tactics for getting traffic that will purchase affiliate products:
1) using “ethical bribes” on Myspace; 2) placing products in hot marketplaces that 99% of marketers don’t know about; 3) getting people on Ebay to promote affiliate products for you unwittingly; and 4) using “lost sites” to generate traffic.

Ewen uses and espouses tactics that are far from boring or normal. There’s a good chance that you’ve never used the bulk of them. And, for this reason, I would recommend following him closely to learn more about affiliate marketing.

Conclusion

Both Ewen and Andrew are talented affiliate marketers with a history of success. If you, too, want to be successful as an affiliate marketer, you should follow their lead, master their tactics, and take action.

The Super Affiliate Marketing Tactics Exposed!

By Article Specialist

So what is it that allows a super affiliate to make hundreds or even thousands of sales when you struggle to make 5 sales of the same product? Why is it that super affiliates rake in the cash while you struggle to get by?

Think about this carefully: you’re both selling the exact same product. The only possible difference is the tactics you use to market it. Below, I’ve included a couple tactics that you should use to sell more like super affiliates. Try to incorporate them into your strategy.

Tactic #1: Play the Long Game

Without exception, super affiliates almost always have access to a very large, captive audience. Rather than scraping to find customers whenever a new product goes live, they usually have those customers well in advance; and they are pre-selling them the whole time leading up to the product launch.

In contrast, less successful affiliate marketers often use a sort of Google Cash approach to everything.

Whenever some new launch is coming up, they’ll throw together a promotional website; and try to direct traffic to it using pay per click search engine advertisements or solo ads.

But there’s a major flaw with this approach: almost without exception, people will purchase a “big launch” product from an Internet marketer they already know.

This is why you have to play the long game. Rather than focusing on each individual launch, prepare an approach that will work consistently for years. Start by building a list and sending ALL of your traffic there. This is exactly what super affiliates do; and this is what you should do, too, if you want to make more sales.

Tactic #2: Steal from Super Affiliates Whenever Possible

Many super affiliates are also big name Internet marketers. They have public personas that you can follow quite easily. You can find their userIDs on forums. You can scout out their blogs. You can join their mailing lists. You can find out which sites they own.

I encourage you to follow a handful of super affiliates carefully and steal every single lesson they offer unintentionally. Sign up for their mailing list and watch out they start to pre-sell products; or how they avoid pre-sales and then talk about the product several days after the launch.

There are dozens of different approaches that super affiliates take. None of these approaches is necessarily the “right” approach, but you can learn from each of them, since they are probably successful if a super affiliate is using them.

Tactic #3: Ignore Talk; Look for Revealed Preference

Talk is just that: talk. Many Internet marketers will talk about all sorts of different methods you can use to make money. They’ll tell you to advertise using Google Adwords or to build a list or to create viral reports.

While some of this information may be useful and legitimate, I would encourage you to ignore what they say and watch what they do. This is called “revealed preference.” If something works, they are likely to use it again and again, so look out for those things and ignore the babble.

Tactic #4: Make Friends with the Seller

Believe it or not, the seller wants you to be successful, too. So contact him ahead of time, make friends with him; and see if he has any particular advice for you on selling the product. Keep in mind that he talks to a lot of affiliates on a regular basis (especially around big launches) and has the best understanding of the tactics they actually use.

Conclusion

Super affiliates use a range of tactics in order to consistently outperform other affiliates. But one thing they always do is play the long game. They build lists, create forums, and secure a captive audience in advance of product releases.
