Planning is Essential to Starting a Membership Site

By Robert Williams

You may be very excited about starting a membership site and be filled with all kinds of ideas about the type of site(s) you wish to start. Before you jump in with both feet, it is best to do some planning and research ahead of time to ensure your work is put into the right place.

There are, unfortunately, some markets that aren't as popular as others, and some markets do not have willing buyers. Yes, it is possible to teach the market the importance of buying information, but that can be a very long and slow process.

If you are looking to make a quicker profit with your membership site, it is best to do the research upfront rather than putting in a bunch of work, only to find out that people are unwilling to pay for access to your site.

The idea of researching your market may seem a little scary or overwhelming if you haven't done much research before, but it can be a fun and interesting task. Plus, the more you learn about your market, the better able you will be to provide information the customers are looking for.

One of the first steps in your research could be to do a Google search and see what type of competition you have. For example, if you are interested in starting a content membership site with information for dog owners, type that into Google and see what comes up.

If no other sites come up, the normal tendency may be to feel excited. You may be thinking, "I hit upon a gold mine - there's no competition." However, this is actually a sign to be cautious. It may be a sign that other people have tried this idea before and failed. The reason behind the failure could be something on their part, but it could also mean that the market you are trying to reach is not interested in paying a membership fee for access to a website.

If you find a few other competing sites, look around and see what type of memberships they are offering and what their price points are. You may want to go ahead and purchase a month's membership to see what type of content they are offering their subscribers. If you feel that you can do what they are doing at least 10% better, then go ahead and develop your site.

Another idea is to do some keyword research through wordtracker to see what type of searches people are performing. You can enter some keywords that will be relevant to your site and see how many searches have been performed on them. If a lot of searches are coming up, then you know it is a popular topic. If no one is searching for this information, you may want to reevaluate your ideas.

By putting more work and research into your membership site in the beginning, it will be more profitable and easier to manage as it grows.

Writing the Perfect Sales Letter - the Basics

By Nickolove Lovemore

Here's a 7-step plan recommended by Internet marketing expert, Armand Morin, for writing the perfect sales letter:

1. Headline
2. Shocking statement
3. Tell your story
4. Introduce the problem
5. Agitate the problem
6. Give your solution
7. Introduce your product

Let's take a look at the first and last of this 7-step plan.

The headline is the most important element of a sales letter. It is the first thing a person will see when they land on your website and it plays a critical role in whether a prospect will continue reading your sales copy or whether they will click away.

Many great copywriters will tell you that 90% of their time is spent on the headline because it is fundamental to the success of a sales letter. Changing the headline alone can dramatically affect your sales. Armand Morin said that a change in one of his website's headlines resulted in an 800% increase in sales. Sounds almost unbelievable but other Internet marketing experts and copywriters can also attest to such statistics.

Armand Morin also gives a basic template for a headline which is:

"If you want to do this, this and this then this is what you will receive."

Alex Mandossian's headline for his main sales page for Teleseminar Secrets is a classic example of this.

"If you're an entrepreneur, independent professional or small business owner, I encourage you to find out why my Teleseminar Secrets training is absolutely your fastest, easiest and most economical way to:"

He clearly identifies his target audience and then gives three irresistible hooks - 'ease', 'speed' and 'save money'. Althought I have used a colon here, Alex Mandossian actually ends his headline with three dots. These draw your eyes downwards to the eight benefits of Teleseminar Secrets that he lists below.

Internet Marketers use multiple ways to increase the stickiness of their websites because they know they have mere seconds to convince a person to stay or click away. Hence, the use of graphics, colour, audio, video, font size, etc.

Alex Mandossian uses a relatively small font size in his headline - just 14px and the headline is written in sentence case for Alex is talking to you, seducing you with his words. In this case it's very effective.

Now for the main part of your sales letter - point 7. When you are introducing your product Armand Morin recommends "chunking" or writing in segments. Each chunk is capable of standing alone but it also flows into the next chunk and provides a compelling reason why someone should buy your product.

In other words it describes the problem that your product will solve. After each chunk you ask for the sale. Therefore, you will end up asking a prospect to buy your product 7-8 times. If you only ask a person to buy once then if they say "no" you are left high and dry.

There's an art and science to copywriting and research has shown that, for the average person, you have to ask for the sale at least 7 times to close the sale. If you only ask for the sale once you really are shooting yourself in the foot.

You have to understand what happens mentally when a qualified prospect reads your sales letter. They are interested in your product and if they are continuing to read your sales letter their interest is increasing but as soon as you ask them to buy their interest drops. You are trying to persuade them to get their credit card out while they are thinking of reasons not to spend money.

But they stay on your website and continue reading so you give another compelling reason to buy. Their interest starts to rise but again drops when you ask for the sale. However, if your copy is working, the resistance to buy is not as great. Can you see that with a successful sales letter a person's interest will therefore climb in saw tooth fashion until they click your order button?

The trouble is you don't know what reason will trigger the buying response. This is why you need to ask multiple times. Software exists so you can actually track the effectiveness of your order buttons and this data can help you to improve the conversion rate of your sales page.

You also have to convince a person why it is important to buy your product NOW, TODAY. You have to think that your prospects will never come back and so you have to pull out all the stops while you have your prospects in front of you.

There are two main ways to persuade a prospect to buy now. One is to make your offer time-sensitive, e.g. you can have special bonuses that are only available for a limited period. You can also have a limited quantity of your product. For instance, you may be promoting a membership site that you want to restrict to a limited number of individuals.

So there you have it, some of the basics that go into creating that perfect sales letter. While I have only skimmed the surface of this topic, the beauty of this is that even if you applied just one thing from the information provided you can still dramatically increase your conversion rates and transform the bottom line of your online business.

Top 5 Mistakes That Affiliate Marketers Make

By Jerry Leung

There is no doubt that it is very easy to start in the business of affiliate marketing. You will put some links on your website after you have joined some affiliate programs. You will then be making the commissions if someone follows a link and make purchase. However, is it really that easy? In fact, it is a bit trickier than that.

Below are some of the mistakes online marketers will make. These mistakes will make them fail in affiliate marketing.

1. The lack of dedication and work

There are marketers who make no money at all. They will just give up a few weeks after adding the links. In fact, there will be no way to succeed if yo do not work on it. Remember, there is no free lunch in this world.

2. The lack of knowledge in promotion of sites

It is very important to have the knowledge to promote your websites. Marketers who fail to promote their sites will also fail to make profit. You will need to drive traffic to your sites. Of course you will have to work in order to drive traffic!

3. Failure in advertising the websites

Certainly, online marketers will try different ways to advertise their websites. However, some of them will have no idea on how to do it. They just know to buy advertisement spaces but they do not know if it is worth buying the spaces. To this end the marketers are just wasting their money on advertisement and they will eventually give up in the business of affiliate marketing because they think they are wasting with it.

4. The lack of patience

Affiliate marketing will not make you rich overnight and you need to be patient before you can make profit. You may need to work for a few weeks or even months before you can make the first sale. However, some marketers do not have the patience. They will abandon the websites and do not work on them after a few weeks.

5. Selling instead of pre-selling

Super affiliates know very well how to pre-sell a product. However, some marketers are trying to sell instead of pre-sell the products. You should leave to the merchant site to sell the products. As a result, you will put information related to the products on your websites. You may also compare different products on your websites. This is the way to pre-sell them and you will be able to make tons of profit if you can pre-sell the products well.

Article Marketing: Turn Your Articles into Whitepapers

By Brad McGovern

You've been in business for a while and have written lots of articles. You have submitted them to article directories and use article marketing to increase visits and back links to your website. Now what? Is there anything you can do with all these articles once they've been published through an article directory?

Actually, there is something you can do. You can take your articles and turn them into a whitepaper or a report to offer for free on your squeeze pages. This will give your readers a reason to sign up for your mailing list. Once a customer signs up on your website you can send them a free PDF file of your whitepaper.

What is a Whitepaper?

A whitepaper is more like a report that an article. Typically you want to start your whitepapers by discussing a problem that your clients have. To do this you really need to know your market. You'll need to know what they want and what they need.

Just present the problem and offer solutions while keeping your focus on their customers needs. Your whitepaper must offer valuable information that helps your customers. A whitepaper is a document to provide unbiased information. Don't use it to spam your products or services. A simple link at the bottom of it to your sites will suffice.

Your goal for writing a whitepaper is to educate readers and generate leads and sales. However, a whitepaper is not a place to hard-sell your merchandise. Use whitepapers to draw potential customers to your website and educate them about your topic so they will return to your website to meet their needs.

Marketing with Whitepapers

If you're like me, you're no stranger to article marketing. The concept has been around for a while now and it is one of the best ways to spread the word about your business. Now I use whitepapers in the same way. I turn older articles and diverse material into whitepapers by changing the focus and writing in a clear concise way. A whitepaper is more like a technical document and includes factual information. When I'm done writing a whitepaper, I submit them to directories just like I do with my articles. Submit whitepapers to directories for possible inclusion in e-zines and newsletters.

The side benefit of writing a whitepaper on your niche topic is that it helps establish you as a credible source. By offering a high quality whitepaper or report for, you will gain your customers' trust and become noticed as an expert on your topic.

Outsourcing Whitepapers

Turning an article into a whitepaper could become a time-consuming project for someone who isn't skilled at this type of writing. Does that mean you should skip this valuable article marketing option? Not at all.

Use an article writing service to transform your articles into whitepapers. The cost of hiring a team of professionals is worth it to have a well-written document to offer your customers. You can also submit whitepapers to directories for possible inclusion in e-zines and newsletters.

Why Is Article Writing Important For Internet Marketers?

By Sharon Doucet

Article writing is the most powerful internet marketing strategy of all. Well written articles attract highly targeted traffic to your web site. As an Internet Marketer, highly targeted traffic is the key to getting your share of digital gold.

There are still only a relatively small number of internet marketers who actually understand why article marketing is such a powerful strategy for marketing. For others it may seem to be just another piece of work they just can not be bothered to, or afraid to, undertake as they do not see much value in writing articles. Listed below are 7 very valid reasons why internet marketers should write articles on a regular basis.

1. Free Advertising:

When an article has good content (valuable information) you are providing service to readers who are searching for specific information. By including your name and site link in the resource box you enable the reader to visit your site and perhaps purchase from you. It costs you absolutely no money to get your article published on the internet.

2. Your Name Becomes Known:

Informative articles, with your name attached as the author, attracts attention. When you have people’s attention your name starts to circulate around the internet. Your name then becomes associated with valuable information and you have effectively branded yourself as an expert.

3. You Establish a Reputation:

By providing excellent, relevant and original articles you create a good impression on your prospects. You start to be seen as an expert in your field and this in turn drives even more people to your site who will be eager to do business with you.

4. Get Natural Traffic:

Well written articles that are keyword rich can greatly improve search engine rankings for you. This is the way to drive natural traffic to your site. A word of caution, key words must be used with relevant information otherwise you will lose credibility as an author.

5. Link Popularity To Your Site Increases:

By simply submitting your articles to other sites, and including your name and link in the resource box, you will automatically get link partners. This means that you do not have to spend hours and hours hunting and asking webmasters for reciprocal links. Link popularity is also a determining factor in search engine rankings.

6. Enhance Your Credibility:

Articles do receive feedback from others. Record the positive feedback and comments your receive, and then you can include them on your site, in your promotional material and advertising. This will make a good impression on prospects as well as build loyalty with your existing client base. When you gain more credibility you will also be drawing in more prospects.

7. Long Term Profit:

Once your article is published on the internet, in e-zines, article sites, on someone's blog or website, it usually stay there forever. That means that these articles will still draw clients on a regular basis for years to come. How is that for free lifetime advertising?

Article marketing is a powerful tool for internet marketers. It is not the fastest way to create your digital gold, but it is a steady way to build your business with highly targeted traffic that will do business with you time and again if you provide good products, relevant information and great service. Article marketing is a very solid and powerful internet marketing strategy.

The Most Crucial Requirement For Internet Marketers

By Sharon Doucet

Do you know what the most crucial thing an Internet Marketer needs in order to find their digital gold by working from home in Internet Marketing? If you ask any number of Internet Marketers this question you would probably get just as many different answers.

They would tell you that the first thing you require is a web site, or a hot selling affiliate program, or a product of your own creation. Others might tell you first must start with information on how to build a business on line.

Well, you will require all of these things and much more eventually. But, there is one thing that is absolutely crucial to your success in finding digital gold in Internet Marketing, one thing that will ensure your success, but it seems so very hard for so many people to achieve.

That one crucial requirement is called PERSISTENCE. Webster's dictionary defines persistence as "to continue in a state or action in spite of obstacles or objections". Persistence means not giving up your dreams of making money on line working from home because everyone thinks you lost your mind. It means working hard getting your Internet business set up, advertising, learning, asking questions and pushing yourself through both the good and the bad times you will encounter.

It is highly unlikely that you will realize a huge influx of digital gold in your first week of business, or your first month and perhaps not even by the sixth month, but do not give up just before you strike your digital gold mine. Your income should increase each month and if it does then keep on working and seeking more knowledge and help to help you gain more digital gold. Persist in what you are doing. But remember if you persist at doing nothing to grow you Internet business you will get exactly what you put in -- nothing.

Persistence is a habit that you need to develop if you desire to win in any aspect of your live. Below I have listed four simple steps which will help you develop the habit of persistence.

1) You need to have a definite purpose backed up by a burning desire to have it fulfilled. You have to have a genuine determination to take action until you succeed.

2). You need to have a definite plan of action with concrete steps to take and firm timelines you are determined to follow.

3). You need to shut your mind to all negative and discouraging influences around you. This includes family, friends, yourself and anyone else who are negative or discouraging towards your endeavors.

4). You must find and be in continuous communication with one or more people (a mastermind group) who will encourage you and help you to follow through with your purpose and plan.

There are millions of people who search for information on how to make money working from home in Internet Marketing every month. Statistics show that 97% of these people never find their digital gold mine, they give up too soon. Why don't you be one of the 3% who develop the habit of persistence and strike digital gold with Internet Marketing?

Importance of Your Website Coming at Good Position in SERP!

By Alok Vats

Being an owner of a website is a matter of proud for most of us. A genuine question arises that what is the use of the website, if your website is not getting the visitors?

The question is fair enough. If no one (other than you and your near one) is coming to visit your website, then that website is useless. Let me explain this line.

A website in general provides three type of things, one is Service, second is Information and the third is Product. Now in the first case, if your website is providing any services then what is the use of that website if no one is coming to use that service? Again in the case of an informational website, if no one is going to read your informational articles then what is the use of that website? For the third type of website, it is quite obvious that if no one is purchasing the product then that website is quite useless.

Other than these, there are a financial issue too attached with the website. There are so many websites which provide a way to earn from your website, like Google Adsense, Widgetbucks, etc. And there are so many websites which provide us the opportunity to earn cash from home, or from your website, or working part time from your home etc. etc. Also we can earn money from becoming the affiliate of any good website.

Now, if your website is attached with any of these earn money from your website offer, then still you won’t be able to earn anything if no visitors are coming to your website. Otherwise if our website is an affiliate of a website, then also we are not going to get anything unless we can sell their products from our website. And if our website is not getting visitors, then how come we think about converting them into customer.

So ultimately, a visitor for a website is like having life in any human being. If a human being has no life then he is dead. In the same way, if the website has no visitor then the website is also dead.

So, ultimately we all require visitors for our website. Now a big question arises: How? How can we get visitors? There are so many ways. One way is to run PPC (pay per click) campaigns like Google Adwords. If we are having a good budget then we can utilize that budget by spending them on Adwords and by this way we can get visitors.

Next way is to submit your website in directories. There are so many web directories available in the net from where we can get visitors by submitting our website in the proper category. Now if someone reach that website for a search for that particular category, then there is a chance that he or she can visit our website.

Next way to get visitors is to write down some informative article and submit those in some good sites which accept articles written by others, like ezinearticles, goarticles, articledashboard, etc. (*also articlehighlight – editor). These websites are commonly known for the visitors who really want to study good content. So, if they like the article written by you then there is a higher probability that they will surely visit your website.

Here is one more way to get visitors for your website. You can submit the news related to your website to the social bookmarking sites and you are sure to get visitors from there.

Is there any other way to get visitors? Well, there are so many ways but the most important and the simplest way of getting visitors is from Search Engines. Suppose if your website is providing information about car and someone comes to Google and searches Car Review and your website came at the very first page of the SERP (*search engine results page – editor), then it is quite obvious that he will visit your website.

What if your website is coming at the very first page of all the searches related to your main keyword? Obviously your website will automatically get lots and lots of targeted traffic. Targeted in the sense since the people who are visiting your website were those who were searching for that particular thing only.

So, that’s all the importance of your website coming good at SERP. It is really not a small thing to reach to the top position for each and every keyword related to your industry. It requires lots of time, and proper search engine optimization.

When Is Website Redesigning Needed?

By Jim Olivero

Redesigning a website is a stressful undertaking. However, effective website redesign can have a positive impact on a business. While there are certainly advantages, change for the sake of change is pointless.

So often, websites grow over time, and they need to be redesigned because the information within them needs to be condensed or reorganized. Many business owners go through this same process. There are, of course, advantages and disadvantages to redesigning your site. Depending on how it was set up originally, converting a lot of pages may take weeks, and that's after the new design is finished and approved. People who come back to your site that haven't visited it in a while will be greeted by a look that is unfamiliar to them.

Ask yourself the following questions to see whether it's time for a website redesign:

1. Has your business changed or grown?

If your business is no longer the same as it was when you designed your site, chances are, it needs to be redesigned to reflect the change.

2. Has the size of the site grown substantially?

If your site continues to grow, like most business sites, you need to evaluate whether it's still meeting your objectives. As you add new products and services you need to re-organize your information. In addition, you should consider adding multimedia information (audio, video) to sharpen your message.

3. Is some of the content outdated or unnecessary?

Does your website have up-to-date content? Someone should be revising spec sheets, changing promotion dates and adding new material weekly. If your website appears static, it looks like you're not a serious business.

4. Is the information on your site user-friendly?

If you cringe when you read your site text, or if you regularly get questions on your site text from visitors, re-structuring your copy or rewriting it can help fix these problems. If you've been adding to your site over time and the navigation has become unwieldy or confusing, this could be another pressing reason to redesign your site.

5. Is the most important content buried below?

Here's where you need to do an "easy to buy" audit. By that I mean you need to evaluate how easy it is to find information and actually buy your products. This sounds like common sense, but we've all purchased online and know that it can sometimes be frustrating.

6. Are you using the latest technology, instead of hard-coding?

If you created your website more than 18 months ago, you are probably due for a technology update. This is also true if you started with a very basic site and "hard-coded" everything. Ask your webmaster whether he has some suggestions. You can be sure he will.

7. Are you getting good results in the Search Engines?

Poor rankings in the Search Engines can be a result of not optimizing your site well. Poor search engine ranking can also be a result of bad design choices or coding on your site. Make sure that your site isn't designed using frames and that the text is coded in HTML. Flash sites are also more difficult to optimize for Search Engines.

8. Does the home page design suit your current business objectives?

Does your website communicate the depth and breadth of your current business? If you have changed the focus of your services, added new products or want to communicate a different face to your visitors, consider an overall redesign for your website.

As with every other avenue in life, things become outdated and old-fashioned. It doesn't matter how well your last website design was, you will have to replace it in time. While the above might not be exhaustive, it should provide good guidelines to decide if its time for a website redesign.

Ebooks + EBay = Quick List Building Strategy

By Ray Johnson

There are many ways to utilize ebooks and eBay to create an online business. Most think that it consists only of selling ebooks to as many buyers as possible. While that can be the core of your eBay ebook business, especially if you are able to upsell your buyer to maximize sales, there is another less well known strategy utilizing ebooks that could jump start your online career faster than anything else. You can utilize eBay to build your subscriber list.

There are two significant facts that together make this strategy very successful. Fact 1, eBay has the largest volume of rabid buyers on the planet. Fact 2, the secret to having the most successful internet marketing business is building a good list. When you combine those two elements you create a powerful internet marketing tool.

Why does it make sense to build a list? If you sell an ebook to a customer, and then that customer leaves, you have profit from that one sale, but then you have to attract another buyer to make another sale. The concept of the list, is to make a sale to your customer, but then get his or her name and email so that you can sell to them again and again and again.

That one customer that bought a 99 cent ebook from you on eBay could turn into a customer that ends up spending hundreds of dollars with in the future. It's like having your customer come back every week to buy another item from you, but instead of your customer going to you, you go to your customer.

It makes absolute logical sense that if you are presented with a large number of willing buyers, you should take advantage of that and siphon some of that traffic into your business. Ebooks are an effective way of doing that. One of the most effective ways to do that is to send your buyer to a download page to get his product.

The download page is designed so that your buyer must submit his name and email to you in order to get his purchase. Now that you have your buyers email, you can market to them any time you want just by sending them an email. As an extra incentive, you may even want to reward your customer for providing their email information by giving them a free bonus ebook along with their purchase.

You may even want to sell ebooks for one cent as an incentive to get subscribers to your list. Many internet marketers do exactly that, they give away free ebooks to entice their visitors to sign up for their email list. Since you are not allowed to sell ebooks at no cost on eBay the next best thing is to sell them for one cent.

Ebay is the largest pond in the world if you are fishing for buyers. What's more you are guaranteed that the fish in that pond want to buy stuff. That's the only reason they are there. What better fish to hook as subscribers to your email list? The formula: Ebooks + Ebay = Quick List Building Strategy is a great one to follow. Use that formula properly and you will build your list of willing buyers in no time.

10 Steps To Avoid Getting Stuck In Traffic On The Information Super Highway

By Sharon Doucet

The internet is a super highway of information and just like any highway you can get stuck in traffic. This is called information overload. Every day internet marketers are searching for their share of digital gold and are being bombarded with schemes, strategies, scams and products claiming to be the be all and end all to getting rich fast.

Since we live in a society of instant gratification, far too often people start to sign up for every scheme, strategy and program they can get their hands on to fast track themselves in the digital gold rush. This is when they find themselves stuck in traffic on the information super highway. They find themselves with an overload of information and products, spending all their time searching and downloading more and more, and no time spent on working or using any product or program they have. Worst of all they find themselves broke and disillusioned with internet marketing, thinking everything a big scam.

There are ways to avoid being stuck in the traffic and it all begins with research.

1. Make a plan consisting of what type of product you wish to sell and how you are going to sell it. You need a clear plan so you do not get sidetracked and end up stuck in traffic.

2. Research programs before you sign up. You must have a real interest in it, not just making money, or you will not be excited enough to convince your prospects to join you.

3. Make sure the products you choose are high quality and something that others are searching for. The easiest way to get this information is through forums. Forums contain a wealth of information for anyone to use.

4. Work in programs that offer you plenty of support. Not just through the help desk but actual training on every aspect of marketing.

5. Does the company have a tracking cookie system. This is important as most people do not purchase the first time they access your site and they could hit someone else's site the next visit. You will be ensured of the sale if the system has tracking cookies.

6. Look for programs that can provide you the opportunity to earn residual income. This is where the digital gold really is.

7. Take careful look at the compensation plans. Are they explained in a clear manner that is easy for everyone to understand. Is there a set amount you need to accrue before you will get paid. How often do you get paid; weekly, bi-weekly and monthly without accruement is the best.

8. Be prepared to learn and put time and effort into your program. Remember working on the internet is employment and just like any traditional employment you need to work in order to get paid. The major difference is that you are your own boss in internet marketing.

9. Be realistic in your expectations, set out a plan (goals) that will steadily increase your earnings. You can not go from $0 to $10,000 in your first month, but you can increase your earnings each month until you may be earning $10,000 or more per month.

10. If you are planning on setting up multiple streams of income, ensure that you have one program up and running completely before you move onto setting up any other ones.

Make Your Resource Box Eye-Catching

By Matthew Meyer

People that go to the internet are out to search information. Whether for gaming, business, fun or anything else the internet has provided us with information that has proved to be very beneficial.

Through the recent years many people have learned the secrets of Search Engine Optimization. More and more sites have seen the effects articles have done for the traffic of their sites. Some have even created sites devoted entirely to providing articles that could be read by their website visitors and have links that could lead to many sites that are related to the topics and subjects of the articles.

For example, the sites may feature many articles about a whole lot of topics. As a website visitor reads the articles they have searched for, they can find at the end of the article a resource box that can be clicked on, to link them to the site that has submitted the article. Of course the article would be in relation to the site. Lets say if the article is about rotating the tires, the resource box may lead to a link to a site that sells tires or car parts.

A resource box is what you usually find at the end of an article. They will contain the name of the author, a brief description of the author, a brief description of the sponsoring site and a link. If a reader likes what they read, they would have the tendency to find out where the article came from to read more. The resource box will be their link to the source of the article and this will entice them to go to the site and do some more reading or research for the subject or topic they are interested in.

But like the article itself, the resource box must also be eye-catching to demand the attention and interest of the reader. While the resource box encompasses only a small space, providing the right keywords and content for your resource box will provide more prodding for the reader to go to your site.

Now we know what resource boxes are, what are the benefits of having a good resource box? Mainly its driving traffic to your site. Many sites would allow articles to be placed in their sites because they can make use of the articles to fill their pages. They also get affiliation with other sites that can be beneficial for them as well. For the sponsoring site, when you get people to click on your resource box, you generate traffic that can be counted upon as potential customers.

So what would be a good content for your resource box? Basically it is keywords. Learn about the proper keywords that people are mainly searching for. There are many tools you can find in the internet that can help you in determining what keywords to use.

Resource boxes can also make use of all the creativity it can get. You only get a small space for your resource box so you better make the most of it. Try to catch the attention of your reader with resource box content that can make them give a second look. Unlike TV ads, you don't have visual aids to drive your point in. But you do have the power of imagination of a reader. With the right content, you can make them think and intrigued.

Another tip is to use keywords that should be related to your site. Do not mislead your potential website visitors. Build your credibility so that more people would get enticed to visit your site and browse what you have to offer. Make the people click your resource box by providing resource box content that makes a lasting impression. You only get one chance to wow them and hundreds of chances to repulse them.

Never underestimate the power of the resource box. It may be small in size but they will provide a significant aid in driving traffic to your site. A boring resource box will never get a job done. Be fun and creative but at the same time show that you have a great deal to offer. Too much to ask for something that couldn't fit a paragraph? Yes and no, there are many tips and guides that can help you in doing this, the first step is realizing how important a resource box could be in making people click your link and be directed to your site.

How To Increase Your Passion In Internet Marketing

By Jo Han Mok

I find it quite hard to say, although Internet marketing is a fun and awesome way to make money online, most marketing beginners or apprentices give up within three to six months after trying out Internet marketing.

This may be due to the lack of passion and interest in this system. This is because of all the strategies that they have tried and implement, it just doesn't seem to work the way they wanted it to be.

Is this the person that you are?

If you're guilty, I seriously need to teach you a couple of lessons of Internet marketing that you NEED to understand.

It is time that you stop being this person with this mindset, because in business, you have to be positive thinking and hardworking when you want to pursue something good that might happen in your life.

1. Patience is a Virtue

Be patient. Internet marketing needs at least six months to a year to properly blossom into a fully matured business. Most people are led in by scams and get-rich quick schemes, making themselves impossible to believe that this system takes a long time to properly earn money from.

People lose passion and easily give up if they do not see results in what they try hard to achieve. The important thing is to be patient while learning and implementing more strategies to help you achieve more in Internet marketing.

2. Use The Right Strategies

You have to try out the various strategies out there and see if they really work for your business. If you don't want to do all those things yourself, you can take a shortcut and invest in learning the strategies that have been proven to work for the famous Internet marketers online.

Most people want to save money and do these strategies themselves, but I strongly advise against it. You might end up wasting your time and effort in making and seeing how these strategies work for you. In the end, you'll eventually lose your passion and drive to succeed.

3. Network With Other Skilled Internet Marketers

When you implement networking strategies with other marketers and get their contacts, you tend to be influenced by their passion and drive in Internet marketing. Find out how they are able to make it online, the strategies they use, etc.

Thus, these are the three strategies you can use on how to continue to drive your passion for Internet marketing. Never give up on something you might be able to achieve, that you didn't have before.

Web Design Elements You Should Avoid Having On Your Site

By Jo Han Mok

As a web designer, you should design your websites to give your visitors the greatest ease of use, the best impression and most important of all a welcoming experience. It doesn't matter if you had the greatest product in the whole world - if your website is poorly done you won't be able to sell even one copy of it because visitors will be driven off your website by the lousy design.

If you run a website, chances are you often wonder whether it is the right time to do a total redesign of the layout of your website. Here are some points to consider:

Are you thinking of a redesign just for the sake of it? If you answered yes to that question, it is not yet the right time to do a redesign. Remember, a design serves a specific purpose. If you are not sure whether to do an overhaul of your site, keep in mind that your current design might have a specific purpose that you might not know about. You will lose that function if you do a redesign.

On the other hand, if your website has had the same website design since 1990, perhaps it is high time to do a redesign. The last thing you would ever want to happen to your site is when visitors leave your site without taking a look at your content just because the design is old fashioned. If this is your case, here are some points to ponder before doing a redesign.

Redesigning your website is like performing plastic surgery on it. Your website loses its current identity (for the better or worse) and your regular visitors might not recognise your new design at first glance.

You risk losing them just because they thought they landed on the wrong page. Hence, it is very important that you retain a characteristic feature from your old layout. Perhaps it is the logo of your site; perhaps it is the same text style for the title for your site.

To play it safe, put a poll on your site to let your visitors do the talking. If they think it is necessary for the website to have a fresh look, give it to them!

When I'm talking about a "good design", I'm not only talking about a good graphical design. A professional web design will be able to point out that there are many components which contribute to a good website design - accessibility design, interface or layout design, user experience design and of course the most straightforward, which is graphic design.

Hence, I have highlighted some features of the worst web designs I've come across. Hopefully, you will be able to compare that against your own site as a checklist and if anything on your site fits the criteria, you should know it's high time to take serious action!

1) Background music

Unless you are running a site which promotes a band, a CD or anything related to music, I would really advise you to stay away from putting looping background music onto your site.

It might sound pleasant to you at first, but imagine if you ran a big site with hundreds of pages and everytime a visitor browses to another page on your site, the background music starts playing again.

If I were your visitor, I'd just turn off my speakers or leave your site. Moreover, they just add to the visitors burden when viewing your site - users on dial up connections will have to wait longer just to view your site as it is meant to be viewed.

2) Extra large/small text size

As I said, there is more to web design than purely graphics - user accessibility is one big part of it too! You should design the text on your site to be legible and reasonably sized to enable your visitors to read it without straining their eyes. No matter how good the content of your website or your sales copy is, if it's illegible you won't be selling anything!

3) Popup windows

Popup windows are so blatantly used to display advertisements that in my mind, 90% of popup windows are not worth my attention so I just close them on instinct everytime each one manages to pass through my popup blocker (yes, I do have one like many users out there!) and, well, pops up on my screen.

Imagine if you had a very important message to convey and you put it in a popup window that gets killed most of the time it appears on a visitor's screen. Your website loses its function immediately!

In concluding this article, let me remind you that as a webmaster your job is to make sure your website does what it's meant to do effectively. Don't let some minor mistakes stop your site from functioning optimally!

Website Content: Using the King to Explode Your Internet Business

By Daryl Campbell

It seems like every day a new website innovation or internet marketing strategy arises. For instance, we are witnessing the dawning of an online video revolution. Many internet marketers have taken advantage of this and set up very profitable websites.

Then there is the social networking phenomenon which has made communicating with your audience much more interactive. These innovations will continue as the internet keeps evolving.

But content is still king and will remain so for a long time. Getting caught up in the latest gadgetry is a mistake business people make online and off. Video is terrific but when the smoke clears, people still want to read information that is well written and highly valuable.

The majority of your site traffic is going to come from search engines. When your site gets crawled by the search engine spiders and they see that you provide quality information (on a regular basis), your website will be rewarded with better search engine rankings. Of course there are other factors in determining your website ranking but good content heads the list.

As for those potential customers you are trying to attract, the quality of your content is make or break time. You have heard the old saying that you never get a second chance to make the first impression. That cliche takes on more meaning when applied to internet marketing online.

It is one thing to go to a store in a mall, not be satisfied and then decide to go somewhere else. On the internet this can be done with the click of a button where thousands if not millions of competitors are waiting to make a better impression than you did.

Pay special attention to not only the information you are providing but also how it looks. Good content can be easily overshadowed by using font styles and colors which are almost impossible to read. No one is going to strain their eyes when they can just as easily find a more user friendly website. Showcase your content by placing it in a setting which provides maximum readability to your customers.

Also keep in mind the first reason most of us go online is to get information, not to purchase a product or service. You cannot have a website that is filled with pages and pages of advertisements.

Even if you are promoting a specific product, your goal is to give the customer as much information on the overall topic the product falls under and then gently point them to your offer. This can be a balancing act to say the least.

You naturally want to make a sale but you don't want to come off sounding like a used car commercial at 3:00 AM. If you are unsure about this you can always outsource to an experienced copywriter. However you will eventually have to do some writing on your own, so it's best to get started now.

Content is king of the internet. It will play a critical role in everything from attracting new customers to boosting your website traffic. Just keep it simple and stay focused on providing useful information that your target audience and the search engines will like.

A Logo Can Help Brand Yourself

By Ray Johnson

As an internet marketer one of your goals is to brand yourself. You want to make sure that you are known as the expert in your niche. You want instant recognition when the subject of your niche comes up. One way to help your branding is to have a logo.

One of the most important parts to the internet marketing puzzle is branding. Branding is creating a profile or reputation as an expert in your field or niche. Branding helps your sales because people like to buy from an expert. Branding helps your relationship with your list as they like getting information from an expert and they trust an expert.

By branding yourself, any product you promote or create, if it is tied to your branding, will have a much better sales result. Once you establish yourself as an expert, you want to have any product or communication or web site to piggyback on your expert status. One way to make sure that happens is to have some type of logo that is associated with you.

If you establish a logo that is associated with you, the expert, then anytime a visitor sees that logo, whatever is utilizing that logo will be associated with you. That association is extremely valuable as it lends credibility and trust to any site, or product that is linked to it.

Your logo is a graphic design that you use on all of your websites in the same or similar niche. The logo can incorporate your picture, your product, a representation of your niche, or just a graphical design using names or initials. I have seen many internet marketers utilize a picture along with a unique representation of their name used as a logo. I see it on most of their websites so there is no doubt whose site or product is being represented.

The logo can be large, a header for example that you use on all of your websites, or it can be small where you can insert it anywhere on the page or even add it to a pre-built header. What ever it is it has to be done in a manner that represents you and reflects your reputation as an expert.

As it represents you, you certainly want it to be a quality piece of graphic art. You want it to be unique and instantly recognizable and you want it to be easily incorporated into your websites.

You should have your logo graphic done by a reputable professional. You certainly don't want it to look like you made an ad hoc logo that isn't of the best quality. Remember, it represents you and your reputation. You might even want to work with a theme that you will use on your websites for your specific niche so that it blends in or compliments the other graphics you use on your sites.

Branding is an important part of internet marketing. You can enhance your branding by associating yourself with a logo that you can utilize in multiple ways. The continuity of using the same branding logo all the time, will add to your overall branding success. Branding success translates into sales success.

6 Article Strategies To Energize Your Internet Marketing

By Ray Johnson

One of the best ways to build targeted traffic is to use articles. Because articles are so flexible as to their uses, most savvy internet marketers utilize articles in multiple ways. Here are six ways to use articles.

1. Post to your blog

As it is almost a requirement for successful internet marketers to have blogs now, the first way to use your article is to post it to your blog. Not only does it give your article exposure but it adds fresh content to your blog. The fresher your blog content the better it will rank in the search engines and the more often you will get returning readers.

2. Post to Your Squidoo Page

One of the newer web 2.0 sites that many internet marketers are taking advantage of is Squidoo. It is almost like having another blog but it is more commercial. It is also a very heavily trafficked site. Posting your article here will, again provide your Squidoo lens with new content which will enhance your Squidoo traffic. You can even set up Squidoo to pull articles from your blog so if you post to your blog you will update both your blog and your Squidoo page all at once.

3. Submit To Article Directories

This is the most common use of articles. You submit your article to article directories which post your articles and make them available for anyone to read and use. The more directories you can post to the more links you will generate and the better the search engines will like it. There are many software packages and websites that will help automate submitting articles to multiple directories.

4. Post Your Article On Your Website

You can create another page for your main website and post your article there. If you include a link to the article from your index page, the search engines will find it fast. They will look at the new article as fresh content to the overall website. If you post enough articles, you can set up an article index page with links to each article and one link from the main web page to the article index.

5. Modify the Article Into a Press Release

You can make some small editing changes to your article to make it a little more newsy by adding a what, why, where component. You can then submit the revised article as a press release to PRweb and other online PR sites where they will be picked up by news organizations and reporters. PRs are one of the best ways to create traffic for your sites.

6. Mail the Article to Your Subscriber List

You can make an email out of the article and mail it to your list. You can enhance your relationship with your list by regularly providing them with good useful information that they are looking for. For long articles, you can break them into parts and make multiple emails out of them. You can also just email a link to your blog or website to the page where the article is posted. This helps get your subscribers to your site or blog.

Articles are one of the most useful marketing tools. There are so many ways you can use them. You can use one of the ways listed or you can use any combination of those listed or you can use all of those listed for each article. The more you can use quality articles the better your internet marketing will be.

Have You Considered an Online Partnership?

By Robert Williams

There are literally thousands of online joint venture possibilities to pursue. However, they generally fall into a few basic categories: list leveraging, product creation and general sharing. Here are ten online joint venture possibilities:

1. List leveraging. This is a common and generally simple joint venture. If you have a great opt in list and someone has a great product, you can promote their product to your list for a percentage of the sales.

2. Information marketing businesses can partner to bundle their products together and promote them to their combined email lists. The benefit to this type of arrangement is potentially huge. Each business increases their exposure and customer base, each business makes money, and each business gives their customer and email list an opportunity to take benefit from a new product.

3. Another simple joint venture might involve sharing or exchanging text links or banners with other related web sites.

4. Partner with another online business with a similar target market to create and share a web site. For example, you create dog training information products and your partner makes home made dog treats. You will both be marketing and advertising the same web site which means double the traffic.

5. A very simple online joint venture is to exchange testimonials or endorsements for each others products or services. For example, if you are a virtual assistant, you could promote the services of a web design firm or copywriter you've used. In return, they could promote your services as a virtual assistant.

6. If you have a product that is nearing the end of its life and sales are dwindling, you could offer it as a free bonus for another businesses product or service. In exchange, ask for a small portion of the profits.

7. Offer to insert a promotional ad for another business into your product package. You could take a small percentage of the profits or ask them to return the favor.

8. Trade ezine ads with relevant businesses that have similar target markets.

9. Create a promotional giveaway with another business and publish your ads and links in the report, ebook, or even talk about them in a video or audio product. You're essentially sharing the labor to put together a promotion that will reach both your list members and the list members of your partner, which means you're doubling your reach.

10. Create a freeware program with another business. Include a promotional ad for each of your businesses in the program. Submit it to freeware and freebie sites.

When considering the many possibilities of joint venture partnerships, consider what skills, strengths and assets you can bring to the partnership. This will likely give you numerous possibilities and then all you have to do is find the right partner.

Pros & Cons of Offering Archived Content to Your Members

By Robert Williams

Once your membership site has been up and running for a while, you will likely find you are accumulating a large volume of content. How soon this happens will depend on how often you update the content on your site. At some point you will need to decide how to handle this treasure trove of information.

There are two basic ways to manage your content. You can maintain all content forever and constantly have it all available to your members. Or, you can keep new content active for a certain period of time and then remove it from member access. There are pros and cons with both choices and you will have to decide what ultimately works best for you.

Some of the pros associated with leaving all of the content up forever is that new members will really feel they are getting their money's worth by having access to content from, possibly, years before they started paying for it. Of course, you also run the risk of having someone pay for a membership, download everything in sight and then drop their membership.

There are also some pretty serious advantages to making content available for a limited time only. You can go through your past content and repackage it and sell it again. Once you have a decent sized library of content to work with, you can find many different ways to repackage things for resell. This can provide a real increase in profits.

Some people know ahead of time that they want to provide content for a limited time. They may choose to update the content on the first of every month, for example. If you choose this method, you may want to have a few pieces of content accessible at all times, such as some beginner, "how-to" type of information.

Another option is to bring back popular pieces of content from previous months as a special "bonus". This works out great for people who were not members at the original time the content was published. To keep things fair, you may want to add on to the material, or provide some additional notes, or other information that was not included in the original form. This will make the customers who saw it the first time feel that they are still getting the bonus.

There are a million things that can influence your decision; for instance, the amount of available web space you have. All the factors that go into this decision will be unique to you and your site. There are no magic formulas or "right" answers to managing content. You can experiment to figure out what works best for you and your members.

How To Profit From Affiliate Marketing

By Cheow Yu Yuan

Affiliate marketing is a great way to profit from the Internet. It is whereby you promote other people products and get commissions when there is a sales generated from your marketing effort.

Nowadays, so many people are being involved in affiliate marketing, which sometimes make it harder for new affiliate marketers to earn a substantial income from this marketing way. Nonetheless, there are some things that you can do to make you stand out from other affiliates, which will increase your affiliate earnings along the way:

1. Do not drive any traffic, drive targeted traffic. Many new affiliates think that by just sending any traffic to a site, there will be sales. In affiliate marketing, the quality of the traffic counts a lot. You need ready buyers to visit your marketing page, so that they are more likely to take action and buy through your page.

2. Do not drive traffic directly to your affiliate sales page. By sending traffic directly to the sales page, other than losing out on the chance to increase the popularity of your website, you will also have a lesser sales conversion rate. Therefore, it is advisable for you to set up a simple website to talk about the affiliate product that you are promoting. You can provide a honest review on your website before taking them to the actual sales page.

3. Have an opt-in list. You need to capture your visitors information such as name and email address. People will usually not buy on their first visit to a website. Therefore, if you do not have an opt-in list that captures their information first, you will lose them forever when they do not buy over at your affiliate sales page.

4. Put in lots of effort. I know that this may sounds a bit too general and common sense, but you may be surprised that there are still a lot of people who think that affiliate marketing is a quick get-rich scheme. There is no such thing as easy money without putting in effort in this world. For affiliate marketing, your aim is to create as many exposures for your affiliate links as possible on the Internet. This require you to always seek out for new marketing strategies, planting links, coming out with creative business strategies, etc. All these require a great deal of determination, discipline, initiative, and of course time and effort.

Although I may put it across that affiliate marketing is a hard work, but you can be sure that once you pay the price, you will definitely reap multiple rewards in the long run.

Make Your Sales Page Convert Better With Graphics

By Ray Johnson

Your sales page, the most important piece of your internet marketing system. It can make you or break you. You can have the most traffic of any site on the internet, but if you have a sales page that does not convert any of your visitors into buyers, all that traffic is for naught. You always need to work on your sales page to make it convert the maximum number of visitors that it can. The proper graphics can make a big difference.

The first thing your sales page must do is convince your prospective customer that you are legitimate. No one is going to lay down their hard earned money on something that looks like it is being sold by a fly by night operation. A well designed sales page, with the right amount of graphics in the right places will make your site and ultimately you look professional.

The second thing graphics can do on your sales page is to brand you. If part of your goal is to brand yourself or brand your product as a leading product in a niche, then you will want to have a header that portrays that.

Have you seen many of the sites of the very successful and famous internet marketers? They all have headers that help to define them and their product. Many times the header uses a photo of them. Their goal is to make sure that everyone identifies them as the expert in their niche.

Another function that graphics can provide is to help you define the points that you want your customers to see. For example, if you have a list of benefits, a large graphic check mark next to each benefit will help to draw your customer to each point. If you just have the usual dot to identify your bullet point, some important information, vital to your sales pitch, might be missed.

Graphics can help your customer find your guarantee. A large Guarantee Medallion on your sales page drives the customer's attention right to your guarantee, which is always an important part of getting the sale. The graphic makes it harder for your prospect to overlook this.

One final graphic may be the most important of all. The sales button. One thing they always say is you have to ask for the sale. You have to tell the customer to buy. A large graphic button that says "BUY NOW: CLICK HERE!" is much more effective than the text that says "click the link below to make your purchase".

The sales button screams out "YOU HAVE TO BUY NOW" The text says maybe you should buy if you think you like the product. The graphic BUY NOW button will induce your customer to take action now!

Your sales page is the most important web page you have in your online selling system. The goal of the sales page is to convert as many visitors as possible into buying customers. Anything you can do that will help your conversion rate must be incorporated into the sales page. If you know the right graphics to use and how to use them they can vastly improve your sales page effectiveness.

4 Tips For Successful Affiliate Marketing

By Ryan Ginster

Successful affiliate marketing isn't always easy to achieve. In fact, it's not easy at all. Affiliate marketing can be one of the toughest businesses to break in to. It all depends on how hard you are willing to work and how ready you are to learn. If not done right, you'll end up like the rest of the 99% of people who fail at any kind of business. Here are a few tips for becoming a successful affiliate marketer:

Be Creative

It's true. Thinking outside of the box also applies to affiliate marketing. It's very important that you do not follow the lead. If you plan on being successful then being creative and unique is the key. It's always easy to follow the lead but it takes a real winner to innovate. I've been in this business for years and the ones that are on top are always the ones who do something fresh and new. This isn't exactly the most easy thing to do but you will be way better off if you constantly reinvent your techniques.

Focus

Focus is another important trait to learn. Don't worry about what other people are doing and do not try to be everything at one time. Focus on one thing at a time and you will get a lot more done with faster results. You'll be much better off by focusing on each individual task instead of multi tasking. Focus is another essential key to a successful online money making career.

Persistence

Being persistent is not only important in affiliate marketing but is also important in life. It's an essential key to continued success to never give up even after you've failed repeatedly. Sooner or later you will succeed if you continue to try. This is the foremost problem when it comes to making money online. Most people give up after they've failed repeatedly and that’s why there are only 1 in 10 that can do affiliate marketing online as a living. There is no one stop instant solution to making money with your own internet business.

Testing Conversions

It's always important to track anything and everything. Why waste your time when you can be applying your time to things that actually work? If you do not test for results you risk losing money and most importantly time on things that do not yield good results.

If you can apply these four tips I can guarantee you will become much more successful in your affiliate marketing career.

6 Benefits of Using Squidoo to Market Your Affiliate Products

When it comes to affiliate marketing, there is one place that you absolutely need to go to, which is Squidoo. It has become the one of the best places to promote affiliate products and services, especially if you are completely new to affiliate marketing.

So what exactly is Squidoo? It is a website designed to make it easy for anyone, for free, to set up a single page on a topic he or she knows or cares a lot about. Advertising revenue is shared with these content creators, and some of it is given to charity.

It consists of a network of user-generated lenses which are single pages that highlight one person point of view, recommendations, tips or expertise. Lenses can be about anything, such as ideas, people, hobbies and sports, pets or products, philosophy, and politics.

Let us discuss some of the benefits when using Squidoo to promote your affiliate products:

1. It is easy to use. Squidoo is very user-friendly and you will not need to be an expert in HTML in order to create a new Squidoo lens. Let it be your website as you can make as many topic lenses as you want, marketing different products in different niches.

2. You do not need to know anything about SEO. As Squidoo provides quality content, major search engines such as Google, Yahoo and MSN will rank your lens high in their organic listings.

3. It is free. If you are a new affiliate marketer, money is surely a major concern for you. By using Squidoo to market your products, you can keep your overheads low as it is completely free to set up a Squidoo account and create as many lenses as you want.

4. Able to market your affiliate products. You will not need to worry about Squidoo rejecting your lens because of affiliate product marketing. It allows you to promote as many affiliate products as you want.

5. Very interactive. There are lots of different interactive elements that you can add onto your lens, such as YouTube video. By making your lens interactive, you will be able to connect better with your viewers and may result in a better conversion.

6. Brand yourself. With each topic that you cover on Squidoo, you are viewed as an expert in that particular field. In this case, you can brand yourself and people will see your name in relation to your lens topics and will remember you.

Squidoo is fun and easy to use. If you are still not using it to market your affiliate products yet, you are missing out on a great deal.

Your Website Copy Could be Letting You Down!

By Ramandeep Singh

A professionally presented business website is a powerful and essential marketing tool: it's the first thing prospective customers will look at before they decide to contact you. If the copy on your website is not written to an acceptable standard, it may be losing you customers.

It’s not enough just to have amazing graphics and imagery: you need the words to make it complete. Is the spelling correct? Are punctuation marks in place? Does the copy make sense? These are questions that website designers should be asking themselves before they upload a new site.

One of the biggest flaws with website copy is inconsistency: for example the word ‘website’. Some sites spell it as one word, some as two words; as far as I am aware both are acceptable, but not both versions on the same site! In my opinion, a lack of consistency will deter a significant amount of would-be customers from using the services of a company that has not taken the trouble to proofread their website.

Poor spelling on a website is another costly but avoidable mistake. The majority of visitors will leave the site very quickly if they find too many spelling errors. This again will give them the impression that the site owners don’t really care; and they would be right! I am also convinced that copy that has been ‘padded out’ with insignificant trivia is also a big turn-off for visitors – clear, concise and informative is the order of the day.

Anything containing textual content should as a matter of course be proofread: it's important that not only are mistakes in spelling, punctuation and grammar found and corrected, but that the text flows smoothly for the reader. The copy on a website should not be treated as the 'poor relation' of the project. You can have the most up-to-date, eye-catching graphics available but you will still need well-written copy to compliment them.

There are the odd few web design companies around that will happily inform visitors how they can supply them with a state-of-the-art website but then insert second-rate copy, which totally negates any good work they have achieved. This will reduce the initial impact of the site, and more often than not will have an adverse effect on business.

It pays to have the copy checked professionally, whether the design company has written it themselves or had it supplied by the client; it may cost a lot less than you think to have a website proofread - it could cost you considerably more if you don't!

Remember: if visitors to your site cannot find the information they are looking for because of badly written copy they will simply leave the site. The only people to benefit will be your competitors.

The Top 4 Mistakes Made By Internet Marketing Newbies And How To Avoid Them

By Ray Johnson

If you are new to internet marketing you may find yourself a little overwhelmed. There is so much to learn, but there are 4 mistakes that are the biggest barriers to online success. If you can learn to avoid them you will succeed online, because the rest will work itself out.

Internet Marketing Mistake #1: FAILURE TO TAKE ACTION

The number one reason that new internet marketers don't succeed is that they never get started. To succeed in internet marketing you need to take action. It almost doesn't matter what action as long as you actually start something and follow through on it.

If you don't put your product on a website, you won't sell it no matter how much you have learned. If you don't find some product to sell, you won't succeed no matter how much you know about product creation or affiliate marketing. The point is if you do nothing, you will gain nothing. Take action!

Internet Marketing Mistake #2: TRYING TO BE PERFECT

Another major mistake new internet marketers make is they try to be perfect. Just a few more tweaks of the site and then it will be perfect. Just a few more, just this little adjustment, you can go on and on. Nothing you do will ever be absolutely perfect. If you wait until you think your product is perfect or you wait until your website is perfect you will always be waiting.

Nothing is perfect, but it doesn't have to be perfect. Does it do the job it is supposed to do? Does it look like it will sell a product? Then that's good enough to start with. Trying to be perfect is really another way of procrastinating. Get it going. You can improve the product or the website or anything else as you go along. Nothing happens until you finally decide to move ahead.

Internet Marketing Mistake #3: AFRAID YOU DON'T KNOW ENOUGH YET

Many new internet marketers don't ever get started because they think they need to know everything before they start. They buy every course and every ebook they can get their hands on. They study and read and study and read, but that is all they ever do. You will never know everything there is to know about internet marketing. Learning is an ongoing process. You will learn more by doing than you ever will learn from a course or a book. Just start and the knowledge will come.

Internet Marketing Mistake #4: AFRAID OF FAILURE

This may be the mistake that holds more new internet marketers back more than any other mistake. They are afraid if they market their product it will be a failure, so they never market it. How can you know something will be a failure before you try? If you don't try it's guaranteed you will fail.

New internet marketers, heck even great internet marketers fail alot. But there is no such thing as failure. All failure means is the next time you need to make some changes. It was failure that ultimately taught every internet marketer how to really market. Failure allowed them to find out what didn't work, so the next time they could do different things that would work.

If you are aware of the 4 mistakes that most new internet marketers make, then you are already ahead of the curve. Don't fall into those traps.

Get started, don't try and be perfect, don't worry about how much you don't know and don't be afraid of failure. If you can do those things avoiding the 4 mistakes, you will be on your way to online success.

Do Not Neglect Your Marketing Plan

By Adrian Adams

No matter what kind of business you own, marketing is always a key component. Whether you're the CEO of a major organization or a small business owner that sells vacuums, you need to market your business.

Marketing is essential in reaching consumers. There is no other way to alert them to your presence and willingness to serve their needs. Far too many businesses fail because the lack a marketing plan.

The internet is one of the most affordable and easiest ways to advertise for many businesses. The resources are endless with the world at your fingertips.

Use search engine optimization tactics to get prominence for your site on the major search engines.. Write keyword-rich, informative articles on your industry and post them on your site. Not only will it be informative to readers but it will help your website be discovered amid the millions of others on the World Wide Web. Don't forget about link or banner exchanges either. Promoting other businesses that are not in direct competition with you through your website can result in added traffic from their customers when they in turn promote yours.

Along similar lines are the potential benefits possible when you create an affiliation with another business, sometimes called a joint venture. An example of this might be an auto shop that does only mechanical work teaming up with a shop that does body work. This way neither is in competition, rather they share the same customers and so by promoting one another can only stand to gain clientele as well as a great reference. Not only is this great for business but the consumer is happy having another need met at their convenience.

The tried and true methods of marketing and advertising a business still prove successful today. Radio and television ads reach many consumers on a daily basis. Renting roadside billboards is another fantastic way to catch the eye of the right people. This can be quite costly and does need to be budgeted for appropriately. Classic advertising such as flyers, business cards and car decals remain necessary but inexpensive. It's perfect for the self starter or the up and running.

Build a reputation of good service and word of mouth will do the rest as it is still proven to be one of the greatest forms of advertising. Learning to utilize the resources available to you can make all of the difference when it comes to success in business.

What Is The Most Useful And Cost-Effective Internet Marketing Tool?

By James Woolley

If you've been involved in internet marketing for any length of time you will know that there are numerous internet marketing tools available to both make your life easier and to help you make more money. But which tool is the most useful and offers you the best return on your investment?

Well in my opinion the best tool that you can have at your disposal is an autoresponder.

If you're serious about becoming a highly profitable online marketer, then it's imperative that you have your own list of subscribers you can send emails to. By doing so you can send regular emails offering valuable information which will help build their trust in you and will help you to make more commissions when you send out the occasional promotion for a product you may be selling or promoting as an affiliate.

An autoresponder is of course the tool you will need to build and manage your list(s). You can collect emails by adding a simple opt-in form on your site using the basic code generated for you by the autoresponder provider, and then subscribers will be automatically added to your list when they fill in their details at your website or blog.

Then of course all you need to worry about is driving more traffic to your websites which contain your opt-in forms in order to increase your subscribers, and concentrate on writing your email messages to your existing subscribers.

You can even schedule your messages to go out at a given time, and write hundreds of email messages in advance which go out over the course of several months, or even years.

Alternatively you can send out live messages as and when you feel appropriate, or combine both together, i.e. scheduled messages and the occasional live message. It's entirely up to you.

The important thing is that you have your own list because this will dramatically increase your earning potential. It's alright having numerous websites but if they leave your sites you may never see them again, whereas if you have an opt-in form on your sites with an incentive to subscribe to your list, such as a free report or bonus, then you can market to these people over and over again.

This is why an autoresponder is so useful because it makes the task of building and managing your list so easy. You can even have multiple lists under one account, so it really is very cost-effective, plus with so many top providers offering an affiliate program, it's very easy to promote their site and earn affiliate commissions which will easily cover your own small monthly cost.

PLR, MRR And RR Explained!

By Ray Johnson

There are a myriad of products on the internet that you can purchase and sell as your product. Some of them are labeled PLR, some are labeled MRR and some are labeled RR. What do those initials stand for, what is the difference between them and how does that affect your internet marketing?

PLR, MRR and RR all stand for particular licensing rights to products you can buy to resell. PLR stands for private label rights. MRR stands for master resell rights, and RR stands for resale rights.

In some ways they are the same but in important ways they are very different. If you don't know the difference and resell a product incorrectly you could find yourself in trouble with the product creator, or at least the creator’s lawyers. Let me explain how they each work.

Let's start with the product type that has the most restrictions on it and work our way up to the type that has the least restrictions. The products labeled RR are the most restrictive. Those are the products that are designated resale rights.

Resale rights products, are products you purchase that you have the right to resell to others to make a profit. The only thing you are allowed to do is to resell the product to the end user. You can not change it in any way, you can not claim authorship or copyright to the product.

Resale rights products can be sold by you to someone who wants to use the product for themselves. They cannot resell the products themselves. You do not have the right to offer any one else the ability to sell that product.

That brings us to the next type of product on the totem pole, MRR or master resell rights products. Master resell rights products are similar to RR products in that you cannot change the product or claim authorship or copyright to the product.

Although you have the right to sell it to the end user just like RR labeled products here is where it is different, you can sell resell rights to the product. You have the right to enable a customer to purchase the product with the ability of that customer to resell it themselves. That is the difference between MRR and RR. MRR means you can sell resell rights to the product you are marketing, RR means you cannot sell resell rights, you can only sell the product to the end user.

That leaves PLR, the best option for a product you want to resell. A product labeled PLR or private label rights, can literally be treated as if you created it yourself. You can put your name on it as the author. You can sell resell rights and master resell rights to the product. The only thing you cannot do is claim copyright to the product even though you can claim authorship.

Another difference with PLR products is that you can change and edit them. You can add comments, rewrite parts, even rewrite the whole thing. You can change formats, for example you can convert an ebook into an audio product by reading it into a recorder. Once you change the product significantly, it in essence becomes a new product and now you can claim copyright to the new changed product.

I must throw one caveat in here, make sure you understand exactly what you are buying. While I have outlined what is generally accepted to be the difference between these types of products, product creators may have their own definition of what they are selling. Make sure you look specifically at how the product creator will let you use the product.

Buying products online for resale is a quick and usually inexpensive way to quickly get your hands on a product to market. Knowing the difference between PLR, MRR and RR gives you better knowledge about what you are buying. It also let you know exactly how you can sell each of the product types so you can better know how to market your products.
